Oh dear, you have Renee too? Maybe I should change my pick... |
I'm telling you, that's usually the safe bet. 21 points wasn't bad, but there were, and for me almost always are, better choices! I think Tina Charles last week may be the first time this year I picked the top performer on any given night. That should get you a win, if you could do that consistently. The only problem with that is that many nights it is the same few people at the top. CP3 (before her recent injury), LJ, DT3, come immediately to mind. With those people the trick is to catch them on their best night, a ridiculously difficult task and one that requires a whole lot more luck than skill. Which brings me around why I still hate this game. But it's the only game in town, and I can't NOT play it!

Yeah, 21 wasn't so bad, but I was hoping for more
I don't pick the top player very often, unfortunately. I do tend to do decent, it all depends on who the matchup is (for example, I tend to pick post players when they play Phoenix ), whether anybody's injured (which is why I picked Monica Wright back when the Lynx played Phoenix -- Seimone hadn't come back yet and that was Wiggins' first game back).
You're right, this is the only game out there, and I'll play it. Sometimes the picks are no-brainers, other times I struggle picking players

7/6 DeWanna Bonner (though if shit gets crazy, I may have to change out)
7/7 Renee Montgomery
7/8 Seimone Augustus
7/11 Janel McCarville (though if she manages to get selected for Team WNBA, I'm changing that; also, given Big Syl's elbows, maybe taking a center is a bad move)

7/18: Katie Smith (changed from Cathrine Kraayeveld, because Cat, hon, you are sucking eggs)

Shoulda stuck with Kraayeveld. Would have nearly doubled my take.
Plenette, you got some 'splainin' to do...
Next week I appear to be in a gamblin' mood:
7/20: Jayne Appel
7/21: Alison Bales (though this is subject to change, Jesus Fried Chicken, what was I thinking?)
7/22: Kara Braxton
7/23: Leilani Mitchell
7/24: Jia Perkins
7/25: Scholanda Robinson
Yeah. Leilani and Perkins are the only two I'm 100% about, though I'm leaning towards keeping Appel (mmmm, rookie doubler).
