Wait. What!?!? This is, well, fantastic for them but I do wonder about the optics after Vegas has been accused of underhanded salary cap evasions.

"Accused"? I thought it was determined that they did violate the salary cap. Regardless, this has to be discussed by the league as it definitely favors only certain teams. And presently the only team that's favored is Las Vegas.

It’s tough because, one one hand, what’s to stop Adidas or Pima from deciding to sponsor the entire Atlanta squad or how different is it from a jersey sponsorship? The other hand is the fact that it’s the whole team and essentially the average salary for most players.

A jersey sponsorship is paid to the team owners, not the players

The salary cap is unenforceable, as payments outside the WNBA cannot be legally limited.
The only reason salary caps work in the NBA and NFL is that the salaries are so high that no outside income could come close to matching them.

Has any information been released about Chelsea Gray's injury? Or is Vegas still refusing to even admit that she has a leg?

It's a little insane to me how the league has allowed that to go on.

She has been listed in every one of our status reports this year as "out, lower left leg."

New Aces jerseys. Looks like they are just going with the Raiders color scheme of silver and black. |
I think they just recycled the material from Old Raider jerseys. It saves money.

An expensive rookie who is last of the bench gets cut. Have they got someone else coming in?

Dyaisha Fair had the cheapest contract the Aces (along with Kate Martin) and it's not much more than the rookie minimum, so how would this be considered an expensive rookie contract?

Must be relying on Kate Martin. Lord knows Bell and Colson aren't going to contribute anything.

This is the sad consequence of allowing a team to blatantly cheat the salary cap. Should Gray return, the Aces will field the best perimeter roster in history of W; plus I venture they are not done yet. Gustafson looks like a failure which does leave LV thin on front line with "just" Wilson and Stokes. They could cut players like Cannon and Bell, and have room to go after any big available. My eyes land on Brianna Turner in Chicago, who is mired as fifth big (with Cardoza back) on end of bench. LV won't care about Turner lack of offense, but she would provide defense and rebounding. Another possibility is showering Gabby Williams with big $ post Olympics, but Turner the better fit. I have said it before: the WNBA is becoming a league with the Harlem Globtrotters playing a bunch of bumbling Washington Generals.

It's more a symptom of having artificially low salaries. Players will sign for lower salaries because that's not how they make their money. A difference of $50k or even $100k is pocket change for players making millions on their endorsements.

Gray, Plum, Hayes, Colson, and Martin deserve this level of praise?
Not sure how Young is labeled. They do seem a little guard-heavy.
