Happy she's staying in the PAC. Huge get for the Bruins. She and Bessoir are going to be a fantastic post duo. |
Imo UCLA is the most serious about contending for the #1 spot in the Pac-12/a Final Four berth that they've ever been. But it remains to be seen if Close can close the deal, per se.

Huh? She had just announced her transfer to JMU. Fickle thing.

They're in a similar situation to Maryland last seasons (and Duke this upcoming season?). Their best player graduated and due to various reasons the remaining roster was very thin, but they've all snagged some good transfers. Now to get them to work together.

In theory that Pac-12 schedule should favour Stanford, but having to play the Oregon schools twice is always dangerous business.

2022 women's college basketball recruiting class initial rankings
Quote: |
National signing day is less than a month away, and 20 espnW 100 players have yet to verbally commit.
Two schools, Oregon and UCLA, have four top-100 prospects. Six teams have three recruits ranked in the top 100, while 11 schools have two top-100 commits. |
These are only the initial rankings, but so far, six Pac-12 teams comprise this Top-10 list (including my Huskies ), with three of those teams occupying each of the Top-3 spots.
Otherwise, of the other four non-Pac-12 schools: one is UConn, one is from the Big Ten, and the other two are from the ACC. No Big 12 schools on here and no SEC schools on here – yet.

It looks like it favors UCLA quite a bit to me.

Howee, please let me know if you got my PM! It's showing up in my Outbox rather than Sentbox and I don't know if that's normal.

I hate the BS of putting 20+ on the all-conference team. It's like giving all the kids in the class a gold star so nobody feels left out.

Also, how do you go from being defensive player of the year to Honorable mention all-pac?

From their exhibition it looks like Wazzou is almost exactly the same team as last year. They have one big Freshman guard but otherwise same. I wonder what happened to the big post that was supposedly transferring there. Apparently she got lost in the transfer portal. It's kind of scary that the coach hasn't managed to get recruits. They would really be in trouble if Krystal hadn't chosen to stay the extra year.

Keeli Burton-Oliver. They also announced an incoming Australian point guard named Tayah Bellows who already has WNBL experience, but neither have been added to the roster.

Watching the Oregon exhibition stream. None of Pao Pao, Rogers or Watson are dressed. Hopefully coach is just resting them.

Scherr seems to be having a good PG game in the absence of the PGs.

Bad news for Paopao & Rogers, but good news for their other perimeter players who now will get extended playing time. Still plenty of talent left to hold down the fort at least until those injured return.
