A Lynx writer seems to believe Cierra Burdick will be the Lynx’s next replacement player. She’s like a professional replacement player. Not too thrilling of a choice, but I suppose she has a degree of versatility between the forward spots.
Chelsey Perry might be an interesting choice.

Burdick played last night. The Lynx are her 5th different franchise. Only 15 players in league history have played for six or more. We haven't had a six team player in the league since Lindsey Harding in 2016. There are currently five other five team players in the league: Jessica Breland, Layshia Clarendon, Betnijah Laney, Allie Quigley, and Shavonte Zellous.

Quote: |
Lynx guard Aerial Powers had surgery Friday morning to repare a torn ulnar collateral ligament in her right thumb, which was injured during the team's victory over Los Angeles Saturday. The surgery was performed by Dr. Sanjeev Kakar at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and is expected to keep Powers sidelined eight to 10 weeks.
Ten weeks would mean Powers would be out until late August. But, because of the summer Olympic games – and the month-long break the WNBA is taking during that time – Powers could still return with regular season games left on the schedule. The Lynx begin their final stretch of eight regular season games on Aug. 31. |

Her contract sucked and she isn’t useful enough for it.
Expect her back though on a smaller deal though.
I’m not good at the salary cap situation. Does this give us any wiggle room to get to like 12 people or not?

Richyyy's cap sheet show they have negative cap space of 11k. Seems like a problem, but there are a lot of moving parts so I hope the expert will chime in.

Yeah, the reason it's negative is because of Clarendon's hardship deal, which is hypothetically on the cap as if she'd be there until the end of the season, but would be pro-rated down to the length of time she actually lasts when she's released. They also gain somewhere around 51k by cutting Banham (she counts for the proportion of the season she lasted, so around half of the 103k deal). If they were to sign Banham back at the pro-rated minimum, they really wouldn't save that much - it'd be about 35k instead of the remaining 51k-ish. But they could also do it in 7-day deals if Banham's willing to do that.
All this saves them some cash on the margins, but they've basically got 12 players right now anyway with Clarendon on the hardship. The main thing this gives them might be the flexibility rather than the raw dollars (especially as Clarendon is becoming pretty indispensable and they wouldn't want to be trapped having to release them without a way to bring them back). |

Reeve needs to make an offer for Carter. The Lynx need a talented young guard.

Maya Moore's husband Jonathan Irons had a quick answer when asked if he wanted to see his wife play basketball again.
“I see her all the time. we have a basketball hoop in the back of the house," he said laughing during an interview with The Associated Press this week. “She's still got it. She made a trick shot from her mama's bedroom to the goal. She still shoots from deep and will shoot your lights out.”
That fact he says Moore still has it is welcome news for WNBA fans wondering if the former league MVP will return to the league. |

Has there been any further info on Dangerfield's injury? I saw that she didn't play v. LA last night, but she was on the bench in street clothes. I gave up hoping for update from LA announcers. My feed was poor anyway, so even if they did provide info, I couldn't hear it.
Any info appreciated.
Thanks-
