Aww. That could have been a much more interesting story if it played out the way my drama loving mind wanted it to.

Why NBA players can get coronavirus tests but regular Americans are struggling to
Quote: |
"We wish them a speedy recovery," de Blasio tweeted. "But, with all due respect, an entire NBA team should NOT get tested for COVID-19 while there are critically ill patients waiting to be tested. Tests should not be for the wealthy, but for the sick."
Public health officials don't agree with the mayor's assessment, according to NBA spokesman Mike Bass.
"Public health authorities and team doctors have been concerned that, given NBA players' direct contact with each other and close interactions with the general public, in addition to their frequent travel, they could accelerate the spread of the virus," Bass said. |

Daniel Dae Kim says he was diagnosed with coronavirus
Quote: |
"Today, even though I'm not 100%, I'm pretty close," he said.
Kim had been cast in a recurring role "New Amsterdam" earlier this month. He was set to play a trauma surgeon and be introduced in an episode that had the characters on the medical drama dealing with a flu pandemic.
Kim says while his case was not "a matter of life and death" he urged others to practice self distancing and follow other guidelines.
"If you treat this without care you are potentially endangering the lives of millions of people, including your loved ones," he said.
He praised medical workers, grocery store employees and others whose jobs have put them at risk for contracting the virus, and apologized to those who came in contact with during his own incubation period. |

Big surprise. The guy was at a racetrack a few days ago talking about the pandemic.

Look at how close that reporter brings that mic to her mouth. Wouldn’t be surprised if she ended up shaking Payton’s hand. If she didn’t get infected, she really dodged a bullet. She should definitely self-quarantine if she’s not famous enough to get tested.

Has there been any attempt to trace how it got into the NBA or if it was introduced in multiple ways or are they just testing more than the country? I would guess that this has so far disproportionately hit the rich, as they are the world travelers. But they can quarantine and isolate inside houses with multiple bathrooms. Apartments and condos with interior hallways are a tougher situation as you have elevator buttons and doors and trash chute doors that are all commonly touched. I think I will get off if I am alone on the elevator and it stops early. And the less money people have the higher density their dwelling is with a higher number of people using the bathrooms, which might only be a single one.

This might sound cruel but these young athletes are HOES. It could have come from many groupies.

At this rate, they might as well have continued the NBA season, and just played in empty arenas.

Member of Denver Nuggets organization tests positive for coronavirus, is in 'self-isolation'
Quote: |
A member of the Denver Nuggets tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday, the organization said in a statement. It is not immediately clear whether the person is a player, but the team said that person was tested on Monday after “experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.” The Nuggets added the person “is currently under care of team medical staff and in self-isolation.” |
Quote: |
According to Colorado law, a person can only receive a test if it receives “an order from their health care provider (written or electronic) confirming they meet the testing criteria and need to be tested.” The state has reported 216 cases thus far in 20 counties, with two deaths and 26 hospitalized. |
Quote: |
NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in an interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols on Wednesday that eight teams have undergone testing. Seven of the eight are the Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers. The eighth team has not been confirmed. |

Hopefully, one of the Lakers isn’t Javale McGee. He has asthma and just had pneumonia.
Update: Imani just tweeted he doesn’t have COVID-19. Thus, he’s not one of the two.
