Kuzina draws her first start of the tournament for Russia, while Vodopyanova is back in there after a couple of bench appearances. And after the one-game experiment with Hammon and Zhedik, they've returned to the Danilochkina/Belyakova backcourt...

Canitez gets the early call. Yildizoglu digging around for post help, having gotten nothing from Q but a couple of fouls...

Turkey playing with a very small line-up. 3 guards Vardarli, Alben and Tuncluer
McCoughtry supporting her teammates from Fenerbahce
Turkey need to get the ball to Yilmaz

And, the Ice Queens pull it off. Crap, crap, crap. Seriously, Hammon and Belyakova were the only ones on the team wearing genuine smiles after that win. I really would have preferred Turkey but oh well.
Great game and tournament, Turkey! I'm sure we'll see you in Rio!

Good game to watch. And as the NBC announcer (Dave Strader?) said, somewhat ironic that a game between Turkey and Russia would be decided by players from Rapid City SD and Portsmouth VA.
