UConn losing 21-20 at the 1Q.
If you told me that Paige Bueckers, the best point guard I've ever seen in high school and as a college freshman, was playing power forward on UConn, and that Nika Muhl was the second best outside shooter, I'd have said there is something wrong with that UConn team.
And there is. In this game so far, it's offense and defense. |

Missed most of the 1st half where it's 45-34 at the half. Butler was 7-9 from 3 in the half but most of that was in the 1st period.
UConn played Sat. and has a game away on Wednesday.

UConn tightens the ship and wins the 2Q, 25-13.
Brady actually hits 2-2, one a sort of low post shot (turn around, fall away) and a short corner jumper. What I'd like to see are actual back-to-the basket low post moves from her, such as a basic drop step and simple up-and-under. Same for DeBerry if she ever plays.
Shade playing well on offense (9 pts). Edwards not (1 pt). |

Butler may have been the bottom of the BE barrel but they are ranked ahead of both Rutgers and Northwestern of the B1G. They have a new coach and seem to be able to shoot.

Dogs win 3Q, 19-10. Couple of nice shots by Shade and KK, but more is needed from more. |

Shade high scorer in UConn 88-62 win, with 22 points on 9-15, 4-10, with 4 assists and 0 turnovers. LeBron Bueckers with 16 points.
I think the UConn offense is more fluid when Paige plays PG and Muhl plays off the ball as a shooter than vice versa. Paige is more omni-effective when she can control the ball and offense. |
