Very interesting timing on that, especially after the word a couple of weeks ago that she was staying.
If it had happened earlier, she would likely have landed at Purdue.

I think the exodus of transfer's sealed her fate.

Yep. Covid cancelled their season, but a bad overall record is only going to get worse with two of your best players leaving.
I do hope Koi Love lands somewhere good. She's good enough to have a pro career someday,.

It's past time. Although Melanie Balcomb was the one who pretty much sent the program on its downward trajectory. I said when they hired her that she was above her level. Her early success was with Foster's rep and players. Not sure whether Vandy can ever recover.

Clark-Heard or Ashley Early. The rest would likely be punching above their weight. Insell already tried that at Ole Miss and flopped dreadfully.

.
Ashley Early, other than having been a student athlete there eons ago, doesn’t appear to be overly qualified.
The Insell they’re talking about in the article is Rick Insell. It was his some Matt that went to Ole Miss. but Rick is no Spring chicken

Clark-Heard did well in year 1 which tells me she inherited a good team. Now in year 3 she did pretty poorly and now her best player transferred. I don't think she is a good fit at this time for Vanderbilt. You want someone with an upward trend in their performance.

I don't see any candidate taking them to the next level out of that 10 . Using Missouri states coach's record based off the last 2 season does not say a lot . Most of those players she's used were KJH recruits . I would wait a year or two before i start profiling the HC as P5 worthy.

None of those ten overly impress me either. Anyone think Vandy is apt to pony up the money to entice GG to Nashville? The terms of Steph's contract haven't been made public AFAIK.

While GG might be an awesome fit in the minds of those of us who appreciated her at Duke, I'm thinking that maybe she's a bit passe by now, given a current generation of kids that couldn't even tell you who Alana Beard, Lindsey Harding, or Alison Bales are, never mind Gail herself. I'd love to be mistaken on this, but....

If you knew more about Coach Mox (Missouri State) and her track record, I don't think you'd say her record the last two years doesn't say much because most of those players were KJH's recruits. She's a terrific coach, great recruiter and gets the most out of her players. I have no doubt she'll do as well or better than KJH as long as Missouri State can keep her.

Michelle Clark-Heard should be nowhere near a P5 job. I've been up close and personal with Cincy for years because UCONN was in the shitty American. She did well with Jamelle's recruits and this year was a disaster. Cincinnati was in the American title game last year, got the best player in the conference back, and had a disastorous year. I've watched her teams play multiple times and she would sink at Vandy.

Jim Jabir is set to return to Siena. He coached there from 1987-90 before leaving for Marquette.

Wow. I'd almost forgotten about him....I remember him most vividly from his great seasons at Dayton, including an EE run in '15. (Didn't he have some serious health concerns?)
