I saw an article on his death that had an addition I hadn't heard before - he was the first man to break the sound barrier in a plane, and live. |
Yeah, Lothar Sieber was likely the first one to actually break the sound barrier but it wasn't in a plane and ended very badly for him.

The question, "Ginger or Mary Ann?" was as divisive then as Trump or sane is now. I miss those simpler times.

The answer was easy for me. It was always Mary Ann. She was such a kind soul, always reaching out to her fans, especially on Facebook. Another part of the past, now gone to the uncharted Island in the sky. I will miss her.
Thank goodness 2020 is coming to a close. With it, we watch and wait once more in 2021 to those who may leave our world and our memories._________________ If you cannot inspire yourself to read a book about women's basketball, or any book about women's sports, you cannot inspire any young girl or boy to write a book about them. http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Richardstrek

Bassist Eugene Wright, last surviving member of the Dave Brubeck Quartet who recorded the icon tune “Take Five.” 98 years old. Saw the original four about a year before Paul Desmond’s death._________________ Every woman who has ever been presented with a career/sex quid pro quo in the entertainment industry should come forward and simply say, “Me, too.” - jammer The New York Times 10/10/17 |
