Group A of the Euroleague Tournament will be short one team.
Izmet, from Turkey, has a Covid outbreak and wont participate, at this time.
Article from the Spanish team, Avenida, mentions it.
http://www.perfumeriasavenidabaloncesto.com/sala-de-prensa/avenida-encara-la-primera-burbuja-de-la-elw-que-tendra-un-partido-menos.html
As reported by FIBA, there are several positives in Izmit's group of players and staff, which made their participation potentially dangerous these days due to the risk of contagion, which is why their isolation has been chosen. In this way, none of the three games, including the one that was to play on Tuesday against Perfumerías Avenida, will be played. FIBA has also reported that the rest of the matches follow the plan and schedule and the disciplinary bodies will decide in the future how to resolve the matches that Izmit had to play in this first bubble. From Perfumerías Avenida we wish a prompt and quick recovery to all those affected by Izmit Beleyidispor
The only American player on the Izmet team is Erica Wheeler.

If you look at the schedule on the official site - http://www.fiba.basketball/euroleaguewomen/20-21/groups - all the upcoming Izmit games in Group A have disappeared, but so have all the Galatasaray games in Group D. So they're probably not playing this week either. |

So teams from all around Europe are going to Turkey to play in a bubble and both teams from Turkey aren't well enough to play in it.
2020, I guess.

Griner hasn't played in Europe yet this season, right? Has there been a reason or story given for that? Injury, choice, UMMC deciding they don't need her...? |

EuroLeague:

So assuming the rules are not being bent, Gabby Williams seems to have acquired French citizenship young enough not to naturalized. I wonder if there is a reason why I have never seen her speculated as playing for the French national team.

I have not seen anything official, but it seems like a mutual understanding that she was not too keen on it and they probably do not feel like they need her and could save a few pennies. The key for them is having Vanderquigs and Jones under contract as long as possible so that they can keep them grandfathered in under the old rules. |

And Meesseman is still recovering from Covid right? Is she still in Belgium?

These right-to-left boxscores from Israel are disorienting. It makes me feel like I need to read them in the mirror or something.

It was a lot of fun this week. The first week, they had live stats, which were left-to-right and had an English option, which was even better than what they had in past seasons.
This week, no live stats and the stats categories are abbreviations so I had to check against last week and use a big of logic to familiarize myself with which column was which. |
