Not a great time of year to have to be glued to conference tables or conference calls. Seems like they would get it done this week.

The term for WNBPA President and WNBPA First Vice President is three years and will begin immediately. The other members of the WNBPA Executive Committee are: Carolyn Swords (Treasurer), Elizabeth Williams (Secretary), Chiney Ogwumike (Vice President), Sue Bird (Vice President), Elena Delle Donne (Vice President). The entire Executive Committee remains committed to reaching a successful conclusion in the WNBPA’s negotiations with the League for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). |
This is, perhaps, the only public update we may receive until an agreement is reached.

Using the limited leverage that a player has under the CBA in order to get what she wants seems like exactly the kind of thing the WNBPA should be supporting - even if some of us may not like the tactics from outside. |

They need another two weeks to wrap things up, so they’re cutting into the January free agent negotiation time.

Sounds like things will get done by then. Just a matter of crossing off the minor details now.

But if this were happening in any of the four major leagues, we'd be having 24/7 coverage of the negotiations. Very sad there's no real inside info on what's going on and if the deal will get done by next Wednesday.

If it doesn't get done by next Wednesday, it'll at least push back the beginning of free agency negotiations. If we don't hear any whispers of news after this weekend, I personally will assume that'll end up being the case.
It seems like pre-Draft free agency lasts long enough - essentially 9-10 weeks starting at the beginning of February - to where they can shorten it into 5-6 weeks without there being significant repercussions (other than teams' marketing departments wanting to promote new players). I wouldn't be surprised if a new deal isn't made for as much as another month tbh. If they're still negotiating after mid- to late-February, that's where things get dicey imo.

Now about half a week. What comes first - announcement of another delay or announcement of a new CBA?

I'm sure they'll work on finalizing it tomorrow and Tuesday, but I'd say we don't hear anything until Wednesday.

Looks like there’s going to be new CBA talk on Good Morning America.
I’m guessing they won’t talk any specifics but it’ll probably be a “rah rah women’s basketball is here to stay” type of thing.
