Since this game means nothing to the Sparks, it should be interesting as to what kind of lineup Fisher trots out for this game.

Parker and Nneka should sit. Give Vadeeva, Brown, Jones and Wiese a good amount of minutes.

Candace should be relatively fresh. However, she has been so injury-prone this season that it is probably best to wrap[ her in teflon and pack her in a large box with styrofoam peanuts covering her completely until our postseason begins.
Riquna could use some playing time, if only to maintain her rhythm. Chelsea has been logging the most minutes all season long and can use some serious downtime. Ditto for Nneka, who has surely logged the 2nd highest minute count.
Everyone else can play. Time for Chiney to keep her Energizer Bunny rhythm flowing. Alana, TRP, and Syd the Kid can be tag-team partners at SG/SF, while our Enforcer, Masha, and Baby Enforcer, Kalina, get practice time bringing the thunder. Cannot leave Marina out - all downtown crew members are required to keep their rhythms hot & steady. Alexis can spell Chelsea.

With nothing on the line, I suggest load management for Chelsea, Nneka, Candace, and Alana, the first two because of heavy load this season, the latter two because of injuries. That leaves us with 8.
Jones/Wiese
Williams/Mabrey
TRP
C. Ogwumike
Vadeeva/Brown
I would give very few minutes to TRP, so she can get some rest too. |

I don't believe Fisher trusts Jones because she gets very little time on the floor. Sometimes ( though not that often) she gets a hot hand, but in respect to playing smart, she is really lacking. She is someone they will have to replace next season. She is not even a good back up. I think the Sparks picked her up because she once had a lights out shooting game against them in the playoffs. Fisher often does not even use Jones to replace Gray the few minutes she does come on in games that matter. All she gets is garbage minutes. He uses Wiese or someone else. He sees Wiese as a better option at point. Jones problem is that she makes too many bonehead plays. It's not her physical ability that is lacking but what is between her ears.

Collier needs to be the only one to defend Gray. Our guards can’t do it.

Ward's acting like it's over with over 3 minutes left.

fowles is stealing money from fans and ownership.
missing shots is one thing, not putting in the effort is a disgrace.

She is Russian and in todays PC climate you not only do not trust them, but you can also blame everything on them.

I was wondering the same thing. Haven't been able to find anything. Hopefully they ask Fish in the post game.

What? |
It's a tongue in cheek remark. But I tried to think if of any sort of logical reason why she didn't play. In the failure of that, I went with sarcasm. |
Because of the scarcity of good sports reportage with respect to WNBA happenings, we are not always privy to what is going on with the team. For instance, Masha got hit in the head earlier in the season and was forced to undergo concussion protocol before she was allowed back on the court. This gave Kalani opportunities to play that she would not have ordinarily have had. This comes from the article in https://highposthoops.com/2019/09/08/los-angeles-sparks-bench-kalani-brown-marina-mabrey-sydney-wiese/ where it reads,
"But in the sixth game, Vadeeva suffered a knock to the head and had to go through concussion protocol, giving Brown an opening. Hilariously, Brown thought a fan in the crowd was calling her name, not Fisher."
In NFL, NBA, tennis, or other major sports reporting, virtually everything is covered, and it is not hard to dig up facts for a diligent fan. For WNBA reportage, you almost have to be lucky to even find background info.
One of the aggravations I always had with Brian Agler is his refusal to develop young bench players. Fish was virtually forced into this position by all the early injuries, and his due diligence here is paying dividends now as he currently boasts the deepest bench in the entire league without question.
