The Party Crasher is the player who wasn't invited to the draft but goes the highest in the Top 10.
Last year the Party Crasher was Evelyn Akhator, who went #3 to DAL.
We didn't do very well picking the Party Crasher last year (or ever). Only 7% thought it would be Evelyn Akhator.
Our consensus selection in 2017 was Alexis Peterson, who scored 25% of the vote, but was selected #15.

Maybe we ought to exclude Vadeeva from the list because the reason she wasn't invited was because she is still playing and is overseas and just concentrate on the players that could have been invited but weren't. If all the hype is true V would have been invited if readily available.

No, I’m not going to assume why a player wasn’t invited or that they turned down an invitation. Not being at the draft is the only criteria.

Typically foreign players have not been invited unless they're going #1

But wouldn't those same reasons be applied to Diamond, who was invited |
Vadeeva has the second game of the Russian Semifinals on that Friday.
Diamond's team is off this weekend and then plays the worst team in the league the weekend after the draft so they could probably win that one without her. The game might not even have an impact on playoff seeding at that point. |

I think it will be someone surprising. Russell and Vadeeva seem like the obvious choices, which makes me think someone will overdraft the likes of Jamie Nared or some such.

I could still Nared going at #10. She fits a need and has a NY kind of never quit attitude.
But Russell seems possible at #6 or #8 especially if Indy goes with Mitchell at #2 (Vadeeva and Mavunga also seem possible at #8 even though that might not be popular with Indy fans, but again only if they go Mitchell at #2) or Russell at #10 I know Smith was at some Tenn games I always assumed for Nared but Russell at #10 (even though I'm not the biggest fan) also fits a need in NY where we're kind of on the undersized side of things at the 5 spot.

Mavunga at 8 would be a serious overreach. I don't think I would want to the Fever to draft her at 14, but definitely not in the first round.
