Great opening ceremony. Beijing really set a high standard, but London delivered. Well done, except IOC guy.

It'll be a long time before any country comes close to China.

The fireworks show was sensational. Worth staying up for that.

Deadly dullness interspersed with musical interludes.
I miss Bejing.

Some of the opening ceremonies was jus dumb and the rest was pretty good. Never came close to China, but then, nothing ever will. The London through the ages part with the texting part was just stupid. The 60s and 70s era portion was also pretty bad. Sorry but I didn't like much of anything. Just my opinion.

Yes to this.
London was barely tolerable.

As I continue watching it as of now, I'm going to go on record as saying this is the WORST opening ceramonies I've ever seen.

China has a long rich history and culture to draw from and a lot of regional unique cultures that are just facinating.
UK has a rich history and culture, but they are way to PC to draw on the interesting stuff for fear they would piss off one of their many current semi-segregated cultures.

I bailed after an hour it was so dull (except for the boy soprano singing "Jerusalem," one of my faves, but that was at the start); I set my DVR to record the rest so I can fast forward and not waste two more hours on this.
