Just after all the major moves in free agency have been made is a less-than-perfect time to change general manager. |

This.
I mean, better late than ever and all, but ...
That said, it was a necessary step. It isn't the only one, but at least someone in the organization must be paying attention and cares.
Obviously, Lin Dunn isn't a long-term solution, but hopefully she can keep things steady for a while. I'd love to see a new coach and GM in place before the season starts, but that is probably too much to hope for.

Love Catch, but she was a terrible fit in this front office. Wonder what her next move will be?

Ownership probably gave Catch an ultimatum. Fire the Coach or fire yourself (Step down)

While i am excited to see what the new GM does here in ATL (which is not much so far - we have lost more than we gained) who is out there - like recycled coaches in the NFL, GMs with experience are hard to come by...ATL got rid of Seinko - and look what happened to the team. I posted last year that he wanted something different than what new ownership wanted so they showed him the door - who did he want and had a trade ready to go for? Only the ROY (Michaela Onyenwere) that landed with NYL. The bubble year they missed the playoffs by 1 game and Chennedy missed 6 games in an 18 game season, and that team had no Renee, Tip Hayes who opted out, and then Brown, Johnson and C Williams had covid to start to short season and missed a combined 12 games or so. New ownership wanted to prove they were smarter - and look what happened. Bring him in - he made CT a perennial contender (he brought in JJ via a draft day trade, AT via a trade, JT via trade, CW via a trade, stricklen in her prime via trade - who are still on the roster and a key to their success still to his day). He also brought in Laney to ATL and look what she has become. He hired Thibault (COY), Miller (COY) and Collen (COY)....only one who did not win COY was Anne Donovan. Give the man a chance - he won't be picking and dumping draft picks the following year and was done twice in the last two drafts in Indy.

She could've kept her VP position and step down as GM.
Good luck to her.
Hopefully this 3rd round pick is well spent

Seriously. Just starting to make solid draft picks would be immediate 100% improvement. Catch was a genius player and just hasn't found her post playing career spot yet. This clearly wasn't it. I believe she will find the right match. And the Fever can finally start moving forward.

Yep! I still don't think this is her end with the organization though.
At least they chose wisely with her interim replacement. Ms Dunn has three 1st round draft picks to play with.

Dunn should be really familiar with Rhyne Howard.

I'm glad she got another chance so I'll be lookin on with interest to see if she can make the most of it under a different coach and hopefully with a better run of health.
What is Marianne Stanley like in terms of tolerance to brain fades?

Fever sign Hailey Gorecki to a training camp contract.
Theyβre now up to 16 players on the roster before they even add the 6 draft picks.

Everyone's hating on the Fever for this, in the context of them cutting their recent draft picks. But the Fever didn't even draft Wilson, correct? She was acquired in a trade? If Lin Dunn doesn't want her I don't blame her for cutting her. Make room for the 2022 picks.
