The Merc only have two people who can score. It's amazing they're this close.

BG needs a touch every time down the floor.

Cunningham should be playing. These decisions and substitutions. Turner is getting ate up by Sabally and there hasn't been an adjustment.

The 3 shooting is killing us.

Myrtle, it’s not hockey. Confused

Honestly. We couldn't shoot worse from 3 in this game. May as well mix it up.

Well, it’s over now. This offense is incredibly frustrating, I’ll never understand why some of the starting perimeter players don’t understand the concept of moving. It’s like they’ll casually watch BG get doubled and STILL stay planted to where they are.

I'm unsure how that was a foul on Turner but oh well.

Dallas made a smart adjustment to post up their quicker/stronger guards.

Just wasn't the Mercury's night.

And there's the dagger from Sabally.

I figured Dallas would pick up a win in this mini "series" with Phoenix. Didn't know which game it would be though.

(yikes...may have posted this prematurely)
(edit: nope i was in the clear)

I really don’t understand what the deal is with her. She brings good energy and at least seems to understand the concept of flow and movement. She isn’t necessarily the most skilled, but she does nice things here and there when given the opportunity.

Smith is completely out the rotation. Which I don’t understand during situations like this where the opposing team is just packing the paint.

The Mercury offense, specifically without Hartley is heavily dependent on one or two players getting extremely hot. There is a lot of standing, like you mentioned. The backup pg is not a real scoring threat and the starting pf is unusable in most offensive sets outside of setting a screen.

There's only so much you can do if Nurse, Walker and Skylar can't hit a three from anywhere.

She sure did. However, why did Kia get beat so bad. The scout was obvious and she just let Mabrey put her on skates.

Okay, Dallas, a good and deep young team, but Collier and Jefferson are no-ops.

Fascinating that not one but two of Dallas starters ranked last on their roster in minutes played (among the ten players who played).

The Phoenix bench was outscored 10-41. Smith and Gorecki didn't get any minutes. I find myself scratching my head.

I hope that Sandy really considers having Kia come off the bench when Diana returns. There is no logical reason to start her at the 3 because she can't defend at that spot. Quiet as it's kept, she can't defend at the 2 but she does better there than at the 3.

Forgive me for using stan language, but, I completely believe in a Marina Mabrey Supremacy at this point – she's for real, isn't she. Shocked Even though she didn't shoot well tonight, I saw that clutch game-sealing layup she made. She made her presence felt quite a bit in this past weekend's games as well. Not only can simply score at will, period, but she also rebounds (6 per game right now) and has played all three perimeter positions with relative ease. It's crazy!! Easily the 6POY if VJ bringing her in off the bench continues to lead to wins. (Besides, Dearica Hamby can't win it forever.) She's been better than most of her fellow former Notre Dame guards, even as some of them have actually enjoyed good starts to their seasons thus far...

Play together - you get dubs. I knew this was going to be the Wings game. Don't be surprise if Friday swings as well.

Is it childish to get a tech in a close game to give the other team the momentum? I think so. Slooty did the same thing to her team and they lost.

Is something wrong with A. Smith why she's not playing? Never liked her game so if she's healthy I'm not surprised for her DNPs.

Again rebounds high, turnovers low. Free throws and 3pt shooting were good. But, VJ please give it up with Jefferson (5 mins ). Why is she starting or even playing? Harris is ur starting point.

Nice game by Alarie - 14 mins: 4 points, 7 boards, 2 blocks

I'm not even going to count Collier's 3 rebounds. Should've stayed in school.

I wonder when the Merc will be back at full strength? Haven’t heard an update on Hartley in a while and we could really use her scoring ASAP.

There is no official time table for Bria. They just said they expect her back. It's giving very much end of the season return like 2019 when DT had the back injury. Therefore, the closest to Full strength Phoenix will be is around the 26th/27th, which is the expected return of Diana.

That’s the way it goes in a tight game. There’s no garbage time for your end-of-benchers.

Most likely it’ll be Walker returning to the bench when Taurasi returns to full strength. She’s probably saving herself for after the Olympics.

After Hartley returns, who knows what’ll happen. That should be some decent depth though, however that works out.

Should Mabrey be coming off the bench? Her scoring has dropped as well as her 3 point shooting since coming off the bench. If it’s a coincidence fine, but is it affecting her confidence? I just don’t think you should be messing with the team’s top or second best producer.

FWIW, Vandersloot's technical was overruled and rescinded by the league.
