ok when they start comparing Kia Vaughn to Tina Thompson, it is time for the mute button to be activated.

If Turner could add a consistent 15 foot jump shot to her repertoire she would be such a beast.

Griner looks good today. So is she motivated #1 draft pick Charli Collier or Kristine Anigwe. Either way, nice to see her playing well.

Second time I have seen this call today. Player in the act of shooting pokes another player in the face before releasing the shot. (Courtney Williams against Jazz Jones, now Tyesha Harris against Sophie Gustafson) Foul is not called initially but on review a foul is called. In each case they count the basket but call a technical foul. This sure seems like an offensive foul where they should wipe out the basket.

Woman announcer is insufferable. Non-stop verbal diarrhea, almost never about current action. SHUT UP and let the guy call the game.

How can a new fan of the game ever learn to appreciate it if she is never told who is dribbling, shooting, rebounding, assisting, entering, exiting, etc., when 20 players are playing and subbing in and out.

An okay game, but so much subbing that it's hard to detect what the heck anyone is doing on offense other than streetballing.

Griner has 21 (9-12 FG) and 10 rebounds. She should do this every game.

They called it a "flail" technical in the game at Barclays. Is this a new wrinkle to the rules?

I'd have to double-check the order of events, but I think the one by Williams might have been after the release, in which case the call would make sense; it's after the shot, so wiping out the shot doesn't make sense, but it's contact to the head, which is under stricter scrutiny because of concussion concerns (and maybe also because of COVID health protocols?), so they can't just ignore it.

Mabrey's flops are sometimes really ugly.
Phoenix offense equals three players standing around while SDS and Griner play a 2 person game.

The Williams shot was clearly after the foul on Jones. The play by Harris was nearly simultaneous. Interesting terminology; I have seen this for dead ball contact but not for contact within the play. Maybe it is a new interpretation.

C'mon refs. Just let it go and get on with the game. No harm done, just some good ol' fashioned trolling.

Diggins-Smith and Mabrey get into a spat with 22 seconds to go and Phoenix up by 6. Double technical.

Wish it didn't take half an hour, but I'm glad the basket still stood, since that other stuff had zero impact on the play.

yep. Phoenix being so smart here.
Why do you have a player on the floor who can't make FTs when you know you're gonna get fouled?

Anigwe bothers Griner. Harrison was having a bad night and so far Collier is worthless. But I doubt she will get 23 minutes too often.

Yeah - while Skylar was hanging around on the opposite side of the floor with no apparent intent to be involved. I'm guessing/hoping that wasn't the actual plan.

Happy to escape with a win. Just the type of game I expect us to blow.
Griner looks good against teams with no hope in hell of competing with her one-on-one. Can we have only those opponents on our schedule please?

Notre Dame Pt. II needs a new coach! Or trade Arike to a team that will put her talents to use!

what exactly are you wanting from her? She did get 25 shots up. You want 50? And her % aren't nearly as good as Mabrey.

This team is weak at PG and at C. The inbetween spots are quite ok.
