I was being a total fanboy when I voted for Griner and was a bit surprised I wasn't the only one. I do believe if she can consistently play to the level she has been since Diana went out, she could definitely remain in the conversation but she's going to have to be career beat to get there.

You've got a lot of work ahead of you if you want to even be in the conversation for this board's biggest BG fanboy.

Only one player averaging a 20/10 double double. Go Jonquel!

Rewarding Griner for playing one game close to her potential is weak.

Right now, this is a two player competition between Breanna and Jonquel, with Tina Charles as dark horse when Mystics get to full strength and mowing down competition, as I expect will happen post Olympics.

If she has to wait for EDD to start winning, wouldn't that make EDD the MVP candidate?

Stewart is also averaging that.

I disagree. 6 games into the season is already far too early to have a legitimate case for any individual. I think it's fair, based on Griner's last two games (33% of the entire season up to this point) where she is averaging 27 points on 75% shooting and 13.5 rebounds to put her in this conversation for a poll that is already inherently based in projections. Especially considering that there were quite a few people on this board who were already deeming "lottery" after Diana got injured.

I voted for her because I believe that this performance level will continue with Taurasi out, and in her last two games she is objectively as good or better than anyone in the league. She has looked better than ever lately.

If this poll were about who I would vote for if the season ended today, I would vote Stewart. Top player on the team with the best record. It's that simple. But that's no fun Wink

At this point I am going with Jones over Stewart and Laney. Stewart is a very close second but I think she has a better team around her. Laney seems to be cooling off a little after a torrid start for both her and the Liberty.
