I can't help but open this thread but I dread it. I just hate this aspect of the season.

It’s kind of disgusting to see anyone waived so early on in training camp, but especially players who were just drafted. You coaches really think a player who entered the professional sports world a couple weeks ago can properly showcase themselves within the first two days of training camp? Give them at least a week, where they can at least build up momentum/experience/confidence for themselves, and maybe even give you something to think about for next year’s camp. Even if these players were waived so early because they got hurt, it still feels inhumane – they can’t just watch camp for a week and learn that way? Stupid. And some of y’all already know how I feel about the 3rd Round’s existence in general.

Getting waived this early probably means that someone else on the roster just became available, so they're making room in the 15. The teams don't always know exactly when people are going to arrive, or this year when they'll clear quarantine and testing. It's unfortunate, but the alternative was probably not being signed at all.

It’s a hard place to be in if you’re a GM. Given how short the season is, and how short preseason is, it’s integral to get your primary pieces in and playing together so that they can gel before the first game. While we’d all love these players to get more of a chance, teams can ill afford to spend time developing them with the season on the way.

All the teams had rookies and some players working with the coaches days prior to the start of official training camp, so the coaches had more than just 2 days to work with the players. As you mention the 2 players were waived due to injury, it doesn’t meant they can’t be at the camp and observe, being waived just means they don’t count toward the number of players allowed at training camp. As to if they will remain at the facilities and stay to observe I have no idea, but being waived wouldn’t prevent that if the player and team were ok with that happening.

Poor Teana. If New York had never given up on Mercedes Russell (to the benefit of the Storm), who knows how Muldrow’s career would’ve developed in this League...

Is she still overseas? I guess they realize they have enough small scoring guards without her. But she could possibly find a home elsewhere.

Yeah, she's still in France (and her team just got stuffed by 30 in the first-leg of their quarter-final). Always looked doomed considering the congestion at guard in Atlanta and her late arrival. Wouldn't be surprised if someone else gives her a shot at some point this year though, if she wants it.
