Tori Jankoska, the #9 Pick in 2017 to Chicago, would beg to differ. Confused

The Sparks have a long history of releasing first round picks in training camp stretching all the way back to Nicole Kubik.

So Rock Hard got what he wanted with Mack... but like is she even gonna make the team? Imma guess no.

Guirantes must have pissed in everyone's cheerios to have fallen that far.

The Davis pick for Minnesota intrigues me. Seems like a spot for her to pick off Carleton perhaps. Wonder if we could trade her for anything.

Catchings is horrible at her job. She's gotta go.

I like Dallas and Vegas's picks. Will be interesting and watching the cuts from Dallas. Lots of young talent there that some teams could scoop up.

LA also makes me question what is happening there. LMAO

This draft seemed like a whirlwind of confusion. Personally not surprised to see Mack fall, as I'm still not sure she has enough basics and the ability to play at a quick pace offensively. Definitely surprised to see Evans, Davis, and Guirantes all fall. Gondrezick, at a high mark, could be a more consistent version of Shoni Schimmel in the WNBA. Surprised to see someone like Selena Lott(decent shooter, good defender, could play 1-3) not get drafted and Watts go in the first round.

The biggest takeaway from this draft is me wondering if Catchings doesn't just step down and take an AC position at Tennessee instead of getting fired in the near future, because nothing Indiana did made any sense.

Rupert sounded like she would come over.

I pretty much agree with your prognosis though I also think Guirantes and Chelsea Perry have a chance to make it as well.

I was wondering about Ruperts and Heal

I agree that Indy needs a 5th post so one of Thompson or Perry should make it but I couldn't decide which one

Wilson could hang on considering Indy trade for her but who knows I feel like better options will show up on the waiver wire

Guirantes has a tough task to make The Sparks IMO

Wheeler/Cooper
Toliver/Augustus
Sykes/Weiss/Holmes/TRP

she has beat two of the above out to get a spot

N. Ogwumike/Zahui B/Walker
C. Ogwumike/Anigwe

Also wondering about Vadeeva if she shows Walker or Anigwe are out as well.

I just realized Tiana Mangakahia didn't get drafted, and I am kind of devistated for her. Aina Ayuso? Damn.

Mangakahia is the best passer in Syracuse history in only 3 seasons. Ayuso averaged 2 points in 8 minutes in her one yera at Oregon and I haven't seen her name since.

What the actual fuck just happened with this draft? Was the large hadron collider running? That shit was alternate-reality. Tamika Cathings was a great player but ... what?!?!?

It’s rumored she got invited to the Phoenix training camp.

Why not? It's a more legit topic than spending time chatting up Collier about her wardrobe, imo.

Who's game doesn't improve with a concerted effort to get into great condition? Dungee's game certainly did. When she went off in the SEC tournament as a soph she was chunky. Now she's quicker. Improved speed/quickness is always a good thing in basketball.

Treat em like the guys/don't talk about their looks/appearance/have Holly Rowe talk fashion, attire, looks with the overall #1/ but Holly don't ask Dungee how she improved her game by losing weight.

The entire draft presentation is a fashion show done to show how attractive these young women are, isn't it? Shocked

I suppose this is as good a spot as any to mention I'm not doing the Draft Day fashion report this year. Collier getting a professional designer marks the beginning of a new era in draft looks that I'm just not equipped to handle. The days of frumpy man suits and gaudy, mismatched accessories put together by girls who know scarcely more about fashion than me are over. Collier looked fine, but it's gonna require someone with more knowledge and interest in fashion than me to give y'all the details on her look.

Ayuso as a freshman at Oregon, sat behind Soph Sabrina and Jr. Mataite Cazorla and got very little playing time. She was one of many who left the team for that reason. Kelly made a Grave mistake not given her more time and she went back to Spain. She was said to be better than Cazorla. I said at the time that it would bite them in the rear and it ded the season after Cazorla graduated. They had no guard depth and it killed them in the NCAA's. Don't let her lack of stats fool you she was one heck of a player. Graves that year and the year after did not giver his bench much court time. She would have been a Sr this year had she stayed and would have made a big difference.

I'm going to push back on this, a little. All that stuff that you just mentioned is "important" (for differing values of important), relative to the context of sports, but these young women didn't get "suited and booted" for you to not notice what they're wearing.
