If Tara wins this, does anyone sense she may call it a career and leave Kate Paye with the reigns while they have top talent returning (but perhaps not UConn or S. Carolina level next season).
If Tara can snag that elusive title and go out on top, it would seem very Tara-esque. Similar to what Stanford Volleyball’s John Dunning did when Stanford won it for the first time in awhile a few years ago. |
Very interesting thought. |

Brink vs Reese is not a matchup that favors UA.

Look at the things Stanford does that someone else couldn't: set picks for driving guards, a center who can bang and finish layups, a big who can shoot from the arc. So smooth and effortless. |

8 Cat points in the first on 15% shooting. Will Stanford hold them under 40? |

If Pellinton or Yeaney could actually shoot, Arizona would be way better on the offensive end.

Standford's trees make the Arizona players look like Smurfs.

Thankfully AZ made a run to save this game, at least momentarily.

Arya Iverson reverting to her mediocre season shooting percentage mean.
I think AZ used up a lot of juice in the previous games, but Barnes still squeezes a lot out of a little. |

Arizona's defense is doing just enough to keep them in this.

So Aari gets the call every time she plows into someone...

Stanford looks awful.
Kiana once again a no show.
Haley Jones is too upright when dribbling with pressure. About 50% of the time she trips herself, loses her handle or passes it right into the defenders hand.
We need to slow down, run our stuff and I’d rather have Kiana take a tough shot than these sloppy turnovers and contested shots on our more set shooters.

Arizona has a number of players who can drive into the paint at will. But they are missing a lot of those close driving shots.

Once again, Kiana needs to play point. Not Haley.
With Anna Wilson hurt, priority should be Kiana on Aaron. Come on.

Why on earth is Kiana Williams not running the point for Stanford??? First Jones, now Van Gytenbeek?

Yup. She's going to earn a reputation if she doesn't stop that.

yeah, I'm paranoid that Tara is going to try to make Haley the PG next year.
