I was a little sleepy when I posted that. It definitely equals 135, not 125 like I was thinking...

Apparently even the NCAA doesn't think Arizona has a chance

We don't need any locker room white board material. I guess this will give the game an additional storyline for Holly to report on.

So, to be sure, we have the following:

Bueckers (tourney play, nerves in biggest game of career?, hardware, legacy)
McDonald (tourney play, draft stock, nerves in biggest game of career?)
Old hat vs. new kids in town
History (Barnes vs. UConn in 1998 tournament)
Wildcats disrespected by NCAA

I think that covers it?

Yes the article I saw said the NCAA deleted the video once they realized they left Arizona out of it. I'm just baffled as to how that happened - it's not like you had to include 64 teams in the video - you only have to feature 4 teams in it...

Really? One job. After the weight room fiasco I'd think the NCAA would be on their toes.

I'd vote for Arizona, but for some reason I can't. It's a Pac-12 homer vote. I'm hoping it will be an all Pac-12 final. Stanford vs. Arizona. I think Arizona has the skills to pull it off. Quick guards and 3's, and get UConn back on their heels early.

I'm starting to think this is building toward a trap game for UConn. Too much Bueckers hype. Too much diminution of Arizona. Too much "easy win for UConn" in the air. Maybe. Maybe not.

I'm guessing they will be ready. It's a final 4 game and they damn near lost their last game. I would guess they will come out highly motivated tonight.

Question. It's not about the game but how do folks think UConn's roster is going to play out next year? They have everybody coming back and three more 1st year players coming in.

I would guess we will see a deeper rotation. This year they have been playing with about a 7 player rotation and that has forced payers like Paige to play 36 minutes per game. Next year I would guess only Azzi is likely to see a whole lot of minutes as a freshman, but it's hard to say for sure.

I would guess Edwards moves to the starting lineup and maybe Azzi plays kind of a 6th man type role.

Funny I saw a lot of attempts at flops and even a few falls to the floor into fetal positions by one of those teams. I was glad to see that west coast theatrics don't play in Texas. Very Happy

Worst quarter I recall for UConn all season. When will Geno learn the team scores best when the ball is in Buecker's hands, not when she plays off the ball, except against weak conference teams.
