You are probably right. But in the history of sports it is always interesting to see what a team that has a great offense does against a team with a great defense. I'm not saying that Texas has a great defense, but Maryland will encounter a team with a good defense real soon .

Yeah. If SC beats GA Tech...Maryland will have to deal with them

Yup. This is going to be the most lopsided of all the S16 matchups. Texas just doesn't have the guards to handle this.

From a scheduling perspective, I'm surprised this game is the last of the night. Usually they schedule the West coast teams later in the day?

They wanted Stanford on ABC, which means 3:00 Eastern for them

I, too, expect Maryland to run away with it. But I expected Baylor and South Carolina to romp and neither really did (SC a little bit).

I've only seen Maryland a few times, and not for whole games, but they didn't seem to have much post play. It may well not matter against Texas (though it could!), but how they handle South Carolina (and vice versa) will be fun to watch.

This makes sense. I also just realized that 3 PAC12 teams on the men's side of the tournament play tonight, late. I'm not sure if that informed the scheduling at all.

The EE's will start Tuesday. Is it asking too much for this game to go 3-4 overtimes??

Asked in another way: Will her guards handle the ball well enough to be able to pass it to her when she has good position?

I was also questioning her effort. Will she work? Will she rebound? Will she fight for position? I hope she does.

Can Maryland play with a tight whistle?

I see what you mean. Collier seems to be working hard so far!

I'm curious what y'all think. Can Owusu play in the W while carrying that much extra weight? I'm not sure. She's obviously amazingly talented, but overweight players don't have a real good record for longevity in the W. She is really mobile in spite of the weight - moreso than KML for example. I guess the other question is would she be inspired to lose some weight. To me, she looks even heavier than last year, and maybe, like KML she thinks it doesn't matter. opinions?

I can't see that being an easy transition for the kid. Remember Danielle Adams? (whatever happened to her, by the way?) Certain outstanding players hit their ceiling in college.

Both Reese and Miller move so much better/seem much quicker than Collier.

I've been surprised that Texas runs so much of its offense with Collier on the perimeter or high post. Why not put her down on the block more? She's hardly touched the ball these last few possessions.

Same. But, the Texas offense actually looks smoother with her on the bench.

She could br so much MORE mobile with less. Look at the difference in Tennessee’s Kushkituah this year from the past couple of years.

Easy to slow a freight train like maryland down- it's done with YOUR offense.

Other than some dumb plays on both sides of the ball, Texas is holding its own.

Hopefully it will continue to do so in the 2nd half and give us at least one good game today.
