Micaela Kelly of Central Michigan with two early 3's but also two early fouls. Iowa caught a break there. Slow start both defensively and offensively for Iowa but they seem to be settling in now. First media timeout.

Heather put Kelly back in, and it paid off a steal, score and one.

without Kelly CMU has little chance here.
That third foul was really too bad. She was trying to get out of the way but once the offensive player falls down, they will always call that.

I'm watching the Marquette game- are the calls on Kelly legit calls, or are they "ESPN told us Iowa has to be in the Sweet Sixteen" calls?

I'm surprised that CMU put Kelly on Clark defensively. They usually didn't assign her to guard Ohio's leading scorer Cece Hooks to keep her out of foul trouble.

The first one was legit, or at least one that they will always call, on a Clark drive under the basket. The second one was a bit hokie, but not terrible. Her shot got blocked and then she got called in the scramble for the ball afterward. The third one was, as I said above, unfortunate, but they will pretty much always call it...so none were egregiously bad. I thought #2 wasn't totally legit but wasn't terrible.

Thanks. Because in this region nothing would surprise me.

I like the move to get Kelly back in the game. If CMU waited any longer, this would be no contest anyway.

The Kelly gamble continues - back in with over 3 minutes left in the 2Q. Heather really has to do it. Central only has 8 available players, and they have little, if any, chance without “Twin” on the court.

Central Michigan made a little run at the end of the quarter bringing Kelly into the game, as others have said. Iowa's leading scorer in Clark and leading rebounder in Warnock were both on the bench with two fouls.

I said Iowa needed to play more D, but CMU... idk how y'all would do it, but maybe switch things up cuz Iowa's nearly on pace to crack triple-digits...

11 points is a manageable deficit for CMU - if Kelly can stay in the game. But does Clark ever miss?

More damaging than her missed shots are the turnovers and offensive fouls she is prone to. Definitely a high-risk high-reward type of player.

I'd like to see them go small with Kelly, Watters, Davis, Weekes and Jahari Smith on the floor. Bussel is their only player with size, but she's been banged up since January and her lack of mobility is hurting them too much today. Weekes is their best perimeter defender, and Smith is an agile 4 who is their best option as a post defender.

It's also worth pointing out here that Iowa missed 5 layups in the first half I believe. A couple of them wide open in transition...
