Not a very good first quarter and Cam Taylor is on the bench with 2 fouls for MU. It's not looking very good for them right now. VT is up 11-8 after one quarter.

Picked Marquette. Probably rooting more so for Selena Lott to have a good game!

I would very much like to see Selena Lott get back on track. I like Marquette when they're not playing one of my Big East teams.

Yeah they really need her to get going here.

The problem for Marquette is that VT has a legit post presence on both ends of the floor in Elizabeth Kitley, and Marquette doesn't have a whole lot of size where they can do anything other than double her (which VT should be able to adjust to). Hopefully their shots continue to go in like they have throughout this quarter!

Also, I'm just gonna say that Aisha Sheppard (0-4 FG + 3 to's to start out with) with her 38% FG | 35% 3PT on the season is not a W prospect for me. Sorry bout it.

And MU's best post player Cam Taylor tends to get in foul troulbe as has happened in this game once again.

So the NCAA doesn't provide free stats for the public for the Women's Tournament - lovely...

Live box scores appear to be available on ESPN's site. As far as I know, the NCAA site has *never* worked for stats for women's games.

It feels like the classic Power-5 team vs. Non-Power-5 team disparity, to me. Sad

Oh, shit. Buzzer-beating 3 for Amoore & VT. Not looking great for Marquette, now down 11 at the half. Committing 13 turnovers thus far sure hasn't helped!

Not looking good for Marquette at all - they are down 32-21 at halftime.

If MU is to have any shot here, they need Cam Taylor to stay out of foul trouble in the 2nd half and to come up big.

Down 11 despite Sheppard not playing well.

Marquette sure made it interesting but gave up a big offensive rebound with 7 seconds to go Sad. Looks like the comeback will fall short.

M-fan, this was my first time watching Marquette, and I was very impressed with their gritty play. They certainly deserved their berth, AND could have won this one.

'grats to VT....I hadn't seen them play before, either, and was impressed with some solid play. DON'T see them upsetting Baylor, but....

That's the advantage of not doing a bracket Smile.

But I just get to have my heart broken with this one Sad. I knew they'd have no shot against Baylor - I just wanted to see them win one NCAA Tourney game...

I thought they were done by that point and that was a good comeback but they had dug themselves too big a hole by then. I have to think it would have really helped this team had they been able to get some NCAA Tournament experience last season (seniors Lott and LVK are the only real ones with pervious NCAA Toureny experience - junior Chloe Marotta didn't play much two years ago).

I will miss seeing LVK and Lott play if this was their last game at MU (no idea if they will use their extra year of eligibility). Too bad I didn't get to see either play in person this season either...
