Nika Muhl out with a bad ankle sprain. Unsure how bad, but doubt she will return later tonight.

Uncharacteristic sloppiness from UConn. I guess they don't fear Chris like they do Geno. You can't tell too much from blowouts but this is not a good effort.

Sloppiness? At the end of 3Q UConn is shooting 63% with 17 assists and 7 TO's.

Yes sloppiness. They allowed 23 points in the third quarter to a team that averages 72 points a game from the Big South. That is embarassing.

LOL If you look the comment in question was posted at 8:15pm, about 5 minutes after the opening tip.

Noticed the time stamps are in a different TZ. Embarassed

Well, UConn had 11 TO's for the game and shot 60%. If there was any sloppiness it was ONO's layups. 22 pts that should have been 30.

Replace Müle with Edwards and UConn goes from a 4 guard offense to a power team.

Nika was walking without crutches and smiling at the end there. We'll need her Sweet 16 and further...but, Paige seems to go God mode every time Nika gets injured. (That kid is going to be playing basketball on one ankle by her Junior year.)

Aaliyah is a beast. I thought she'd be our best post player by tournament time, and she is. She's also our second best player.

Nice to see Evina return to November/December form. That bodes well for Uconn.

ONO needs to make layups. But at least with Edwards in, her skill of passing is better utilized.

So, in either temporal event, it was posted before the so-called sloppy 3Q was complete.

I like the lineup with Edwards so much better than with Muhl. Edwards enhances the rebounds, the pick setting, the scoring, the defense (especially in the paint), and the FG%. Also, Bueckers is much more effective both as a scorer and assister when she controls the ball and sets up the plays or creates off her dribble, rather than running around off the ball with no one passing to her.

To me it's not an Aaliyah vs Muhl thing. Both should be in.

It's whichever of ONO, CWill or Evina is having the worst game that should be sitting.

But I wouldn't change anything lineup wise now. Rotations and chemistry are important, and Aaliyah is comfortable in the sixth man position. So again, she just replaces whichever of the upperclassman is off that game.

Somewhere in or near the end of the third quarter, I was wondering what the highest number of points given up by UConn in the first round of the tournament in the last 15 years was. Through 3 quarters, High Point was on pace for 69 points, and it's not like they were shooting well.

On a different topic, did anyone hear what they said about Poffenbarger? I had it on mute, but when she came in, they showed a clip of the team around her prior to the game and she was in tears.

HP scored 22 points inside the 3 pt line for the game. They were 9-34 from 3.

Poffenbarger was being consoled. Today was the 10th anniversary of the death of her brother

The team was sympathizing with SP on the 10th anniversary of the death of her younger brother at age 4. Saylor wears that number in his honor.
