Some of the fouls against Rutgers are really questionable IMO.

I always feel like the refs just come out hating Rutgers. Dunno why.

Rutgers is an excessively physical team and they reap what they sow. Also too much bickering amongst themselves as opposed to lifting each other up. They have potential to be good, and they looked the part in February (against mostly inferior competition), but haven't displayed consistent teamwork IMO.

Could be looking at first upset of the Tournament. BYU 12-0 run and they take the lead’

BYU has taken the lead with under 5 minutes left. Rutgers is looking sloppy.

Despite what I said earlier, THAT was a terrible charge call on Arella. (approx 4:30 in Q4)

This would not have been my first choice for an upset!

The reffing both ways has been iffy.

They called it because she lowered her shoulder on the drive.

Yeah, THAT one was obvious to all but the ref. Laughing

I thought this one might be a close one....not disappointed!

IMO there's a difference between simply lowering your shoulder vs lowering your shoulder to create contact. Arella barely even initiated contact--defender had already decided she was going to flop.

Rutgers needs to run two-player pic and pop action with Diamond and Arella. Diamond is so good and they aren't using her!

I thought there were some bad calls both ways. Earlier there were a couple of totally bogus calls against Hamson.

Not Rutgers fouling a 3PT shooter with 1 on the shot clock! I hate BYU, but Rutgers deserves to lose this game lmao.

I thought it was a questionable call. Arella did lower her shoulder but it was also a flop.

Some bs calls. Arella should have just taken every shot at the end.

I get why they called it though! Gilles was all up in the shooter’s grill. You don’t get so close as a defender in that situation to give the ref a reason to make that call.

Jeez Arella, BYU could not stop her, trying to get her team mates involved just did not work at all.

I agree with the even though I'm rooting for Rutgers.

This is a pattern with their "pressure" in general. When Iowa played Rutgers in the B1G tourney, whoever was guarding Caitlin Clark would literally put a hand directly in her face as a "strategy" to block her vision. Clark got poked in the eye / slapped in the face that game multiple times. Very dirty play. That being said, I don't think Giles intended to foul the BYU shooter. But it's a learned habit from them...

Poor play calling IMO. Trying to get the wrong teammates involved in the wrong situations.

Guirantes crying cuz this should be her last collegiate game. She did everything she could, scoring damn near half of her team’s total points. I feel for her a lot.

I could throw around a lot of expletives centered around this game, but I’m not trying to get myself cancelled. Good luck with Arizona next game, BYU. Laughing
