24-24 after first period.

Already a more competitive game than the earlier one. (But as a Terps fan, that last game was a lot of fun!)

Clouden is so cute!
And she needs some help from some teammates.

2 quarters down and it’s still anyone’s game! MSU up 1 point at halftime.

Looking like it’s gonna be a shootout tomorrow between two top scoring teams in the nation!

Iowa putting some separation between themselves and MSU in this one with 5 minutes left.

Iowa has looked like the better team, but everytime I thought they would put it out of reach, MichSU made some good plays.

All season I thought Iowa was lower in the standings than they ought to be.

I think they’ll finally be ranked in the AP Top 25.

Interesting how, with 4 nationally ranked teams in the quarterfinals, only one of them (MD) made it to the final. Good depth in the Big Ten. Cool

Fantastic win for the hawkeyes! Avenged their 4 point loss back in December. Iowa saw some Freshman growing pains in January, but have come out a better team. In December Iowa gave up 80+ points to both MSU and Rutgers. Now come March in the tournament, they held the same two teams in the 70s. It's not like they're a top tier defensive team by any means, but that small improvement has allowed them to win some games recently that they wouldn't have won earlier in the seasons. The turnovers have also decreased in a small but meaningful way.

Props to MSU for a great tournament showing, too. Nia Clouden played lights out this entire tournament and I hope she makes the all-tournament team. Very sad for MSU that Tory Ozment was injured yesterday at the end of the Indiana game--right after she made a 3-pointer that essentially sealed the deal with about 1:30 left in Q4, she twisted her ankle on defense. She was unavailable today against Iowa, and that could have a been a difference maker. Also, Julia Ayrault, another MSU starter, has been out. Hope everyone is healthy for them by the NCAAs.

I just watched the replay of this...WOW. Not only does the defender thrust in to Clark---she also has half her feet in the restricted area! How does this go unnoticed and why was there not a review?
