JMU is winding up their regular season at Drexel this weekend. They managed to lose the first game, 51-48, even though they took a solid 31-16 lead into the locker room at halftime. One factor was that C/F Rayne Tucker went down with what appeared to be a knee injury late in the 2Q and did not reappear in the second half, the other was that the Dukes seemed unable to get past the Dragons' second half press. Hoping for better results today. On another note, Drexel's Maura Hendrixon also went down with what appeared to be a worse knee injury than Tucker's, in almost the same spot on the floor. A couple of players complained about the floor being slick, possibly wet, at both ends.

The second game was a little different although both teams were missing key players, Rayne Tucker of JMU and Maura Hendrixon of Drexel, both out with apparent knee injuries suffered in yesterday's game. JMU went out to an early lead and never really gave it up, although the Dragons mounted a tough defense and forced 22 turnovers (GAAAH!). Three-pointers, a good game by freshman Claire Neff who led the Dukes' scoring with 17 (9 rebounds), the return of freshman Peyton McDaniel, who played 32 minutes and had 11 points and 9 rebounds, some good first half work by Anne Diouf, and a lot of work by Jaylin Carodine (starting in place of Tucker) that doesn't show up on the box score, all contributed to the win. All things being equal, this could secure a 2 seed for the Dukes in the CAA tournament. I think there's a makeup game (not involving either team) somewhere that may be the determinant, but I'm not sure.
