Atlanta: Backup Point Guard
Chicago: Shooter off the bench
Connecticut: Starting Shooting Guard (I mean, who even is it right now?)
Dallas: Veteran Leadership of any kind
Indiana: A stretch post
Las Vegas: Perimeter bench depth (just Williams and Young at this point)
Los Angeles: Starting Small Forward (upgrade for Wiese or Holmes)
New York: Starting 4 or 5 (to go along with Howard)
Minnesota: Interior bench depth
Phoenix: Bench depth (upgrades for Peddy and Jenkins)
Seattle: Shooter off the bench (and Sue Bird to sign)
Washington: Natasha Cloud to sign (
-Atlanta, Chicago, Minnesota and Washington have the best opportunities to address those issues through the draft and expected signings.
-Connecticut needs to make a big move in order to shore up their perimeter, but I don't see a way for that to happen, considering they don't have a first round draft pick or any trade value outside of their top 4 players. Maybe they can try to move Brionna Jones, but that's just trading one starter for another.
-Dallas really needs to do everything they can to package a couple of their picks for an experienced starter.
-Indiana MIGHT be able to pick up a stretch post in the draft, but they'd probably be over-drafting Jasmine Walker to make that happen.
-Vegas needs another guard. They could potentially get lucky in the second round picks if a player like DiDi Richards or Destiny Slocum outperforms expectations. Outside of Sims, who is still a possibility, the free agent market is pretty tapped in terms or perimeter players at this point.
