No they are not allowing fans this season. So I get to watch Marquette get blown out tonight from the comfort of my home instead of at the Al. At least I'll be a lot warmer at home tonight Smile. It got pretty cold here today...

Don't be so sure. We clearly have a hard time containing guards and you've got a great one in Selena Lott. We go as our freshman go, and that's dicey.

Yeah Lott is pretty good but has struggled shooting the last two games - she was 0-11 at Georgetown Wednesday and 3-10 at Creighton earlier this week. She also seemed to hurt her ankle early in the game Wednesday - that may have played a role in the 0-11 shooting game. But it would be nice to see her have a game like she did at Villanova - 27 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds and no turnovers.

I feel like DePaul is either about the same level or a little better than Marquette and after seeing UCONN blow them out twice that's my realistic expectation too for Marquette playing UCONN. And if they start out as poorly as they did at Creighton and at Georgetown earlier this week it will be a UCONN blowout very early.

UConn's freshmen (minus mid-season high school graduate Saylor Poffenbarger), L to R: Piath Gabriel, Nika Mühl, Mir McLean, Autumn Chassion, Paige Bueckers, Aaliyah Edwards. Three of them started the previous game. Please note the correct spelling of their first and last names, which are so often misspelled on the internet.

Being at home, even with no fans seems to be a big factor all over this year.

Last time they played, it was 9x-3x. Massey predicts a more realistic 76-62 tonight.

I like the Marakat/Williams/Griffin-less flow the offense had last time out.

I enjoy watching the most when Evina, Paige, and Nika are on the floor together with whomever.

UConn just doing a layup drill. Marquette needs to clog up the middle and make them shoot from further out than 2'.

WHAT a layup by Pistol Paige -- switches hands while in midair under the basket and puts up an overhead reverse layup with reverse English off the backboard. It was Dr. J-ish.

Bueckers sometimes takes two baby steps on her 3pt shot, which is a walk to me.

Edwards was in a fog in the first half but is very active and very productive in the 3rd.

Aali with a Maya Moore athletic play -- flying in from distance to block a jump shot, catching her own block, and sprinting full court to make a body-banging layup.

UConn is better with her on the floor - even in a fog. 😂And outside of Paige, I don’t really care which player sits so Edwards can be on the floor. She needs to be our main post player by the tournament.

Paige Bueckers isn’t normal. Like..a player can’t really sustain that shooting percentage...right??

I keep thinking the same thing: she's got to start missing, go into a slump, brick shots. But it doesn't happen.

Right? They just look so smooth and effortless though. She is just a very special player. Paige and Alliyah are very good, but I love Muhl.

Marquette is very, very well coached and a good team. They are tough as nails, feisty, and smart. If she could get some top 15-30 kids, they'd be very, very dangerous.

After thinking this kid was a crazy Bird/Taurasi hybrid, given the stylish/circus layups I was seeing a bit of Hammon too.

I believe the basketball move you are referring to is Becky’s baby steps.

Btw..I love Nika too (also really like Mir, she reminds me of Barbara Turner). I’m almost tempted to put Nika in the “must be on the floor” group for the tournament, but I do think there will be times when the other players on the floor should be ONO, CW, and Evina.

I was very happy with the Duffy hire but don't expect MU to be able to hang onto her for very long. So I've taken the philosophy of enjoying it while she's here. Onto Sunday and DePaul - a big game for Marquette...

Re Nika, I initially got the feeling he was giving her forced and undeserved minutes at PG simply because he wanted to free up Paige to be the primary outside shooter and Evina to be the secondary outside shooter. But Nika has kept producing better and better, especially with confidence and judgment, and now is fully earning her minutes.

I got the impression today that Geno only wanted to play 6.2 players in prep for SCar. No explanation why Griffin didn't play, who would have made it 7.2 players.
