The first alternative that came to mind was Alana Beard, who was much better than Douglas offensively for the first half of her career then much better than Douglas defensively for the second half.

It's hard to make comparisons with Beard. Mystics!Beard and Sparks!Beard are such different players.


Alana is the classic team player that does whatever the team needs her to. She had to carry the offensive load for the Mystics, especially after team leader Chamique Holdsclaw began succumbing to her inner demons. When she arrived on the Sparks, the team already had offensive weapons but needed a defensive leader. Alana assumed that role and normally only contributed offensively when the offensive leaders were struggling.
