Two people on the call told the outlet that the gathering was part of a virtual election simulation that included New Yorker bigs such as Jane Mayer, Evan Osnos and Jelani Cobb, as well as producers from the magazine and WNYC radio.
The sources said that at one point, it looked as if Toobin was taking another call and lowered his camera — and that’s when they saw him touching his penis.
Toobin — who has since been suspended by The New Yorker and is on leave at CNN — later told Vice, “I believed I was not visible on Zoom. I thought no one on the Zoom call could see me. I thought I had muted the Zoom video.”

Does muting mean something different on Zoom? Usually it just refers to preventing sound from going out.
In any event, people should be appropriately dressed for professional calls.

He stated he thought he had muted the video....it's definitely related to audio more than video, if it's related to video at all. In any case, why feel the need to masturbate over political discourse, is very odd....

Yeah, I was thinking that every person on that Zoom call is wondering just who or what it was that turned Toobin on. They are probably all hoping it was just that he liked the idea of doing it while he was working.

It should be a journalistic style rule at this point that every instance of his name in print should be followed by an apostrophe.
