Gardiner is still dealing with a knee or stress fracture injury that's caused her to miss most of Fremont's season. And Fremont went unbeaten without her and is apparently going to the GEICO. |
Two Division (possibly 3) D1 post players on the same prep team. Crazy.

Geno said in a talk this week that he already has two commitments from 2022, but only Isuneh Brady has made hers public. So, there's great speculation as to who the other one is.
Geno also said he expects one or two more recruits from 2022, which would give him rare 14-15 rosters two years in a row. |

Or, as her AAU coach Richard Jeter (husband of former Husky Tamika Williams) put it about the consensus #2 or #3 player in the 2022 class:
Quote: |
Jeter, her coach with the Ohio United, took it a step further, calling her the best athlete in all of women’s basketball. Yes, seriously.
“It’s just crazy. I haven’t seen anybody,” Jeter said, “that can take off and dunk off of one leg and then also dunk off of two, and not barely make it, but cock it back and just throw it in. And then turn around and run a 100-yard (sprint) like a track star.
“It’s like the Greek Freak and Lebron mixed together. She gets the defensive rebound, from one end to the other, it’s really hard to stop her. You’re not going to block her shot. That’s not happening.” |

Emily La Chapell commits to Marquette. The Gophers offered her and I was hoping they’d land her. I saw some of her AAU footage. Looks like she could be a star player.

For what it's worth, La Chappelle is not on the Hoopgurlz top 50 list.

As of a week ago she was a 5 star prospect on Prospects Nation.
https://prospectsnation.com/story/2022-elite-60-expansion
PN hasn't come out with a ranked list. Hanson on his ratings:
"The four-star grade is a projection that expects productivity at the Power 5 Level. Many at this level will find success at the mid-major level as well, where a bigger role leads to a bigger impact. The four-and-a-half-star tier projects a Power-5 starter during her career with significant impact on the program. The highest tier, a 5-star rating, designates an impact player for a regular NCAA tournament team and probably development as a professional."
B. Clay: "LaChapell has put herself in the national discussion as far as wing players go with her all around play the past 12 months. She’s got ideal length and can legitimately serve as a big off guard or at the 3 spot for an NCAA Tournament caliber program next level."

Frankly I don't see "pro prospect" applying to as many as he ranks 5 star but I'm sure he made a lot of parents smile.

As if HoopGurlz was the be-all and end-all?

That's at least the second Div 1 commitment from the class of 2022 from that high school (Appleton East) - Emily La Chapell has committed to Marquette.
