Lady Vols get a verbal commit from Justine Pissot, 6'2 W out of Red Bank Catholic HS, NJ. She's a 4-star recruit and ranked #49 by HoopGurls. Good work, Kellie & Co!

Stanford has made offers to several top players in 2022. Sounds like they
academically qualify which is a big hurdle:
#1 Lauren Betts, C
#5 Kiki Rice, PG
#6 Timea Gardiner, F
#8 Maya Nnaji, P
#14 Van Slooten, F
#20 Shay Bollin, F

I don't remember ever having this many top players on our possibles list. Not sure if they're concentrating on posts, or it's just that these are the players who qualify and we're interested in.
Go trees!

No offense to the Stanford fans but when I refer to the trees I may be talking about OSU.

They remind me of the Jacksonville team of Gikmore?Burrows. They were the twin towers but OSU has too many. "The Septuplits?" Is the coach over compensating? Very Happy

Not sure who they will have as freshmen next season, but looking at their current roster when the 22 class gets to campus their main core group will be perimeter players or players that can move out to the perimeter, so it makes sense to bring in some post players to pair up with them.

#20 Shay Bollin commits to Kara Lawson and Duke ... 6’3 and can defend the 1-4 and put it on the floor if needed.

Here’s some of her highlights I filmed over the last year or so.

And I'm wondering how many will stick around. They already lost Morris.

Two of those have either committed elsewhere (Bollin) or put out a list of finalists that doesn't include Stanford (Van Slooten). But the rest all have listed Stanford as a finalist, plus three more.

Kiki Rice, G, top 11 as of 28-Aug-2020
Maya Nnaji, P, top 13 as of 5-Oct-2020
Carleigh Wenzel, G, top 6 as of 12-Nov-2020
Ashlon Jackson, G, top 5 as of 6 Nov 2020
Timea Gardiner, F, top 6 as of 21-Oct-2020
Lauren Betts, P, top 9 as of 31-July-2020
Londynn Jones, PG, top 10 as of 13 Nov 2020

That's more than there is room for, so maybe Stanford is already out for some, and/or maybe some are waiting for a committable offer if someone else says no.

Tara's not retiring any time soon ...

6-7 Betts at center, 6-4 (and athletic) Cameron Brink at the four, Haley Jones on the wing ... and that's just three.

That is awesome! I can never hate on Stanford..during their Jayne Appel years, I secretly thought "You know what I wouldn't be that mad if they beat us". I'd love to see Tara back in the title game..of course against Geno. That'd be so fitting to have them, but if UConn can't get there I sure hope Stanford does!

Seems like a lot of people value education. Weird. I thought it was America in 2021.

Well, I did say we had 'hopes' for more...not being greedy or anything. It's just so rare that this many top players academically qualify and have at least shown some interest. Pretty exciting. We have a long way to go to catch the likes of SoCaro in the recruiting arena. But a #1 is always exciting!

It's funny. I've been thinking it could actually happen this year. Would love to see that matchup. Just getting to the title game would be a dream come true. For us, it's been a LONG time. (First we have a few teams we have to beat)

I trust you were around when Jayne, Candice and Co. DID beat 'em in the semis to play TN in the final. I also remember the year Stanford did meet UConn in the final....wasn't too pretty. Stanford led at halftime, 20-12.... Shocked .... and still lost.

I watch every one of UCONN's championship games when I'm feeling down or just bored. This is the championship game I watch the least, by far. Yes, we won, but it was the ugliest display of UCONN WBB I have ever seen.

This game though, was a show of Maya Moore's brilliance.

OrSU just picked up the #4 in 2022 : Timea Gardner a 6-3 post from Utah. Previously they got a commit from Raegan Beers a 6-2 post from Colorado. I think these are two of the highest commits they've ever gotten so congrats to the Beavs.

BooYah! Honestly was a little worried about Scottys recruiting and taking it to the next gear. But he landed a star with the TriCities early entree pg and Goforth was a solid frothier as well. Adding Beers and Gardiner along with Taylor Jones and Kennedy Brown gives Scotty a super solid nucleus. Would like to see Aleah Goodman stick around for an extra year in 22-23.

Gardiner is still dealing with a knee or stress fracture injury that's caused her to miss most of Fremont's season. And Fremont went unbeaten without her and is apparently going to the GEICO.
