It's not supposed to be, but the only game I see listed for TV so far is USA vs. South Korea at 11:59pm ET Sunday.

Gotcha! Maybe they are just doling the streaming schedule out slowly. I do see that there is something called courtside1891 which is a paid service.... It would be unfortunate if we have to sign up for a whole other streaming service to watch and support the ladies ...Confused

Oh, this tweet indicates that the game against Belgium will be on 9/21 at 8:30 EST on ESPN. We shall see!

Courtside1891 is FIBA's service. They are no longer signing streaming-exclusive local deals so all ESPN+ games are also there. Now that ESPN renewed their overall deal with FIBA, there is no reason to subscribe to both.

I think that the tweet was just missing a +. ESPN's schedule looks booked that day and they have not changed any listings. The USA game at 11:59pm ET on Monday also appears to be earmarked for a network and presumably USA knockout round games will be as well based on FIBA's listings. There do appear to be a handful of games on YouTube in the United States with Google joining part of the deal.

Official rosters will be announced soon, but here was where FIBA had a list of unofficials as they they were updated:

Thank you for the info on the streaming rights. They definitely left the + off of the 1st game. Thankfully some of the others will be on ESPN2 and U:

That pared down roster is truly going to be interesting to watch particularly given the fact that nearly half the team just finished playing yesterday. Aces must be hitting the jet right after the celebration today!

Now, I'm trying to decide if I'm going to get + for the 1st two games hmm... Laughing

I had B. Jones in originally and then took her out for Boston. Happy for Jones I guess Boston has to wait her turn

I also had R. Howard in originally but I guess she will have to wait her turn as well

Super stoked for B. Laney!

Ionescu as well, but I was confident she was going to make the squad.

I would have taken Howard over laney...heck maybe even over Lloyd. Otherwise the squad looks strong. Glad they found some tough players in the post to hold down the fort. Aja , Stewie ,Jones , Thomas is a solid core. Boston will be there in 2024 . This is Bri Jones & Shakira's opportunity to prove she belongs on this team as i'm sure it will be Boston vs Jones & Austin for a spot in 2024.

Travel logistics and the cuts. I’m a bit unclear on how this is going to work with the tip off against Belgium tomorrow at 9:30pm ET and three key players in a championship parade this (Tuesday) evening. Assuming they board the flight out of LA or LV to Sydney right after will they even be on the bench? Or is the plan to let these players rest until the weekend? Seems tight.

And I assume the two CT players have already traveled to Sydney? Thanks for any info, just curious.

Dang. Can't see any losses on this team's record.

There's no way the Aces players play in the opener. The question is whether they miss any more games, and whether there are issues integrating everyone. I haven't seen any evidence of the Sun players being in Australia yet, but I don't follow the relevant social media as closely as many do. I imagine they might be there, but also that the US wouldn't be scared to play the first game with 7 players if necessary.

Same , but i think maybe a loss early will be good for this team.

If they rest Conn and Vegas game 1

Ionescu
Loyd
Atkins/Laney
Copper
Stewart/Austin

Could probably start off going small and use the bench to beef up if necessary.

(I'm sure we could add in some Conn/Vegas players if we really had to).

Could someone help me out with the timezones? When is the USA's first game in US eastern time?

As fun as it was trying to piece things together, it is good that they finally put something together:

When do we think Wilson will have proceeded to the hangover point of the post-title celebration?

One way to avoid a hangover is to continue drinking, and alcohol is free on international flights, so it could be a while yet.

Wow, you definitely fly on better airlines than I do.

AThomas and BJones are there now, by the way, so the US should at least have nine available for the opener.

You know, I'd forgotten that in this tournament they pretty much play games every day, so it's going to be interesting with the late-arriving players....

Edited to add: going by awhom111's link -- for the U.S. anyway....

Between games 1 and 2: 23 hrs.
Between games 2 and 3: 28 hrs. 10 min.
Between games 3 and 4: 47.5 hrs. (little break there)
Between games 4 and 5: 24 hrs.

That's 5 games in 6 days.
Then a 2-day break till the quarters (1 day off), semi's the next day, then Championship the day after that...

The deepest team wins! And teams that know each other well and don't need practices I guess....

For one thing, they'll be "basketball rested" for the first game they play in, while others have played the day before.
