It is too early to tell. We'll have to see how they are playing at the time.

I disagree. There's no way that this program is going to take a 36-year-old PG AND a 34-year-old PG to Rio. It's much more likely to be either/or and two under-30s. It doesn't necessarily have to be the ones I mentioned (Sims and Robinson). I would think that players like Prahalis and Diggins would be in the mix. Hell, even Vandersloot could be a lot better by the time 2014 rolls around.

She should be proud. She earned the right to be there and came away with the ultiimate prize for the second time in her career.

Way to go Swin! Olympic champion! F the haters!

Agreed, I'm happy for Swin, she earned her spot on the team, so what if she didn't play much during the Olympics she earned her spot and deserves her gold medal, just like everyone else on the team.

Congrats to the whole team!! Very Happy

Exactly! With that team, someone had to sit. I doubt Swin cared too much about not getting a huge amount of minutes.

Go USA! Smile

We're all wondering the same thing down here and it's a 40-minute flight!
Congrats to Team USA on its unprecedented success.

It's going to be that bad? Wow. It''s already changed dramatically anyway in terms of how expensive it is for Americans down there, hasn't it? Even without the Olympics.

Yup. Those planning on coming to Rio had better start saving yesterday. Hotel rates are ridiculous, a result of not having enough hotels to begin with. Trying to stay outside the city and drive to events is unthinkable. But the atmosphere should be amazing regardless.

I'm staying at your place Wink

Those of us in Phoenix saw none of the ceremony as it happened. Our NBC afailurate switched to a children's show. And they wonder why fans of womens sports feel slighted. Put a penis on it and they would STILL be showing it, complete with an in-depth analysis of the pattern of the tears on Lebron's face and what their shape means to the NBA's next season.

Broadcasting on the news at 6, but the damage is done. We all feel very insulted.

Did this happen elsewhere too? Curious to know. Evil or Very Mad

I was watching it on the NBC basketball channel. After a bit of a delay and "logo screen" they joined the ceremony, but when I switched back to the regular NBC channel I was astonished to see children's cartoons versus more Olympic coverage (which was scheduled). Rolling Eyes Totally agree with you about Lebron's tears. Laughing We'll see the proof of that tomorrow, I'd wager.

I'm near D.C., and my local NBC affiliate showed a portion of France getting their medals, all of team USA getting their medals, and the national anthem.

Here in NC, we saw the entire ceremony with anthems.

In Los Angeles we saw most of France getting their silver medals, all of the USA getting their medals and the national anthem.

WNBC showed the whole thing (or at least, there were no cartoons; I was listening, not watching, at that point).

Diana was WAY more emotional than I have ever seen her. It's easy for us to forget that had she not won her fight against that fraudulent PED charge, she would not have been there. Making me cry too!

What does it take to make Lindsay Whalen smile!?

I am so very happy for them all!

how many parker bashers have been here?

You're right. There haven't been any...any at all. We didn't have a 300-post game topic where her biggest critic (Clay Kallam) continues to tell us that she doesn't defend and never has. We don't have posts telling us that Parker shouldn't dribble the ball up the court because they'd rather see Sue initiate the break (and pad her assists numbers). We don't have people yelling about Parker's shot selection even though she's been a 35% 3-point shooter in the WNBA this season.

Nope, I must be making all of that up. You're right. Rolling Eyes

i guess you don't know the difference between bashing and actaul in-game observation/analysis/commentaty.

"parker bashers"?

bullshit. how many here, really? is there one maybe? or two?

a non-story. you just needed to feel superior, as per usual.

Confused Do I know you? Kind of an odd thing to say to someone you don't know. I'm not even sure where you came from--yet you've been talking crap since you've been here.

You misspelled Odyssey Sims.
