They may not be looking in the wrong place, but they are most certainly looking on the wrong day.

If the US win this one by less than 40 they either eased up a hell of a lot or had a bad day. It could get pretty ugly pretty quickly.

Not digging the 7am PST start. I'll already be at work Evil or Very Mad . The 5am worked better for me. Hope my patients don't mind my watching while I'm treating them Shocked .

Should be a rout. I thinking the first quarter score is USA 45 Mali 7.

Big Syl and Candy P should get some dunks... or would that be really bad form.

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when Craig Sager interviewed Candace ...gasp! during the men's game. Although he didn't do his homework, he didn't know that Syl can also dunk.

WOOT!!

It's finally not at 5 in the damn morning!

I can get up for 7:15 a.m.

And by the way, y'all, we're on daylight time, so it's PDT.

I get angry about the 8 AM EDT starts, I can't imagine 5. I'm absolutely loving the 10:15 start! Cool

Seriously - no offense to the east coasters, but y'all haven't got one thing to bitch about with 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. starts. Everytime I see someone whine about either of those times, my eyes roll back into my head so far that I can see my pelvic bone.

I don't know if it's considered bad form, and I don't really care - dunking is a legitimate part of the game.

I know there are at least four dunkers on the Team USA: Big Syl, Lisa, Candace, and Delisha (who has reputedly done it in practice). Inquiring minds are inquiring again: are there any more? Razz

I wonder if Dee can actually dunk, because she did attempt one a few all-star games ago...

I admit, I would go berserk if I ever saw Dee dunk Twisted Evil

but anyway, this game needs to start already. I've been awake all night long and I'm bored. I need this game to start and finish so I can go to sleep. Argh.

I don't care what time they start, I just wish it was easier to find out that information! ( Cool thanks a million, bullsky, for figuring it out for me . . . you are a better source than NBC! Laughing )

Go USA!! Go Hamchetou Maiga Ba!! Mali may not get the win, but I am so glad for her to have this opportunity to play in Beijing.

I just have to laugh at how old Leslie looks out there. Someone oil up nan's knees. If this is how US handles Mali's zone, good luck with better teams. Also, why is Smith starting?

Meyers said that US is focusing on getting the ball into LLL which might explain their slow, unsteady start. I think she just bogs down the whole offence and one of your best weapons is your speed and athleticism.

If those announcers think the USA is really struggling then they have not watched the other games they played. [/b]

I think Candace is over any stage fright jitters she may have had. She's looking more natural out there.

Lisa leading all scorers with 6.

They were feeding and forcing it to her in almost every possession, not a surprise she is leading scoring. If I were an American fan, I would take Fowles' or Parker's efficiency anytime, but as an Opals homer, go right ahead and keep treating her and Thompson like your main scoring options. Even when say Sylvia is missing baskets, the tempo is so much smoother and faster with her.
