In the 2008 Olympics: Host country China withstood a late scoring run from Spain to open its 2008 Olympic play with a three-point victory, 67-64, Saturday at Wukesong Arena. Chinese forward Bian Lan led the way with a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double, followed by 12 points and eight rebounds from China's 6-6 center Nan Chen. China outrebounded Spain 48-35 and shot 40.7 percent from the field, including 5-of-9 from 3-point and just 38.0 percent (19-50 FGs) inside the arc. [More]

I'm up and gone long before 8, so I'll have to either watch this one online at work or wait until I get home...or both. I must get the stuff in the opposite rooms done early so I can sit around and watch our girls play!

Anyone else hating the way NBC is setting up the programming? For tomorrow's 8 a.m. game (which I think is scheduled on USA network), the actual programming block begins at 2 a.m. So if I were to set my DVR for it, I'd have to record from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m., then set it for the next programming block from 9 a.m. to 12 noon -- for a two hour basketball game that would span from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. It would fill up my DVR box!

Grrr....

My DVR allows you to change the time around. You might want to check for that if it's possible on yours.

Thanks for the reminder...I need to make sure it records tomorrow morning myself!

Nope. Not possible.

If I didn't have a trial in the morning, I'd totally take a sick :::cough cough::: 1/2 day.

I'm actually going to drag my ass out of bed at 5 a.m. for this one.

I need to start training myself for when I go back to work anyway.

I can always take a nap after we beat China.

Bummer. On mine after you hit record, it takes you to a screen where you can tell it what times to start and stop, how many episodes to record, and how long to keep it. Then you finish that and it's done.

I guess I am blessed to have Charter. That's a shocking revelation.

Okay. I'm bummed. I just realized that softball plays all of its games day-after-day, meaning they don't have days off like the basketball teams. That means on the days basketball comes on at 8 (a couple of the men's and women's games are on at 10:15), it's probably not going to happen. Evil or Very Mad I'll probably just settle for the web re-broadcast. But I dunno. I might do it for softball.

It just sucks that I'm having to choose between the two, because I really want to see softball, WBB, and MBB. Those are the three I was excited to see. No it looks like it's not going to be that easy. Evil or Very Mad

But I'm going to bed in a bit, since I'm tired because I went to bed early (for me) last night to watch the men at 10 this morning.

So, I'll get to watch the ladies play tomorrow! Yay! Razz

With the DVR that comes as part of my cable box, if you go to the channel in question itself and press record, it gives you a list including the option to record the current program or to "create manual recording," which lets you set it to record at any future time period for as long as you'd like. Very useful when dealing with particularly stupid programming decisions.
