The Indiana Fever have waived Mauri Horton.
The Sacramento Monarchs have waived Anne O'Neil.

Sacto must hate O'Neil as much as the Sun hate Valek. They were both cut twice last week according to .com!

It should be Guiliana Mendiola, who was waived this weekend.

I heard the Californian English translation of Ghiliana Mendiola is Anne O'Neil

I wonder if anyone at the "W" has enough pride and sense to be embarassed by these continuing basic mistakes?

To update from the .com:

2005 WNBA Transactions

May 9
The San Antonio Silver Stars waived Jessie Hicks.
The San Antonio Silver Stars waived Ugo Oha.
The Washington Mystics have waived Courtney Coleman.
The Washington Mystics have waived Tiffany Williams.
The Houston Comets have waived Jenni Dant.
The Indiana Fever have waived Mauri Horton.
The Sacramento Monarchs have waived Anne O'Neil.
The Los Angeles Sparks have waived Nicole Kaczmarski.
The Connecticut Sun have waived Jennifer Lacy.

Why do they repeat players sometimes? Does the waiver wire stutter sometimes?

Thought Lacy would be next to go!

since when has Ruthie been in San Antonio? What have I missed? Dang I'm computerless for 4 days and I find out Ruthie was in San Antone and got waived. This sounds fishy to me, misprint maybe??

"Shaquala Williams is my biggest surprise," Donovan told the Post-Intelligencer. "She is very committed to making the WNBA. From a physical standpoint, a mental standpoint, a maturity standpoint, she's done a great job in camp."

Sacramento Monarchs waived Ruthie Bolton

So that leaves Lijie Miao, Carly Wilson and Chelsea Newton for the back-up shooting guard spot. My money is on Miao. I also think Feifei will make the team.

I am surprised Carly Wilson is still there. She's not WNBA-calibre IMHO but I hope the training camp experience will help her development.

Have you seen the Full Court SASS season preview? They (I forget if it's Clay or someone else) think SASS' big problem is that everyone wants to shoot. So it's not just Peewee.

(The only SASS game I saw last year was vs. the June version of the Lynx, with Lassiter starting, Edwards at the point, and Van Gorp as the first reserve center: neither team COULD shoot, and both teams looked terrible. Van Gorp won the game for the Lynx, the only time that happened before she reinjured herself.)

That reads like a season ticket holder's nightmare.

I don't know for sure, but I think the Ruthie post was a misprint. She was waived, but from Sacramento, not San Antonio. I think if she gets picked up by any team, she will stick.
