look at your roster and look at NY's.
That's not even up for discussion. |
I would take the Lib roster all day, every day. Let's look
PG: Hammon vs Nobody. A no brainer win for NY.
SG: V Johnson vs Arcain. VJ can do anything Janeth can do and then some. If she were Brazilian, VJ would be a many-time Olympian too.
SF: Robinson vs Swoopes. SS wins, but if she's the SS of last season it's not by much.
PF: Baranova vs Phillips/Thompson. Against Tari it's an easy win for the Lib. Against Tina at 100% it's a win for the Comets. Against just pregnant Tina it's a clear edge to Supernova.
C: Wauters vs Snow. Wauters is the better scorer, Snow is the better rebounder.
Bench: This is easy, because Houston has no bench. Christon is better than any two Houston reserves. Lyttle might turn out to be something, if Van doesn't cut her, but she's no better than the D-Train right now. KB Sharp would start in Houston. |
It's funny how The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence...
I don't think much of Becky as a PG. Didn't she lead the league in TOs?
If not, she was right up there. Her A/TO is mediocre at best.
Did you actually see VJ last year? She was a non-factor all season long.
I'd take a healthy Tari over Baranova. But I must admit it'd be a tough choice if both were near their peak, which is not the case. I'd take Tari over TT too, but I don't have that option.
Bench...let's see, we have Christon who will play significant minutes.
D-Train, as good as she is, will be sitting at the end of the bench because she's not a favorite of Patty's. I think Donafoe and Frett will get more PT. KB and Erin are non-factors. So it ends there. No backcourt depth at all. The rotation is 8-deep if we're lucky enough.

Van can waive Hodges and keep Ragland, Goodson, and Tiffani Johnson...and have approximately $7,000 to spare.
Alternatively, Van can keep Hodges, along with Goodson and Tiffani Johnson...and have about $6,000 to spare.

Well I know Van's interested in how Tari and Rasmussen play together... So Rasmussen seems to have good odds of making the roster. |
I would take Rasmussen over Tiffani Johnson. She adds elements of fluidity and finesse to Tari Phillips' more banger-like post game.

Did you see Janeth last year? Neither did anyone else...
And no, I'm not impressed that she scored almost as many PPG as Evanthia Maltsi in Athens.
The other thing, of course, is that the things that might raise The Comets' roster above the Lib (Swoopes and Thompson) Van had nothing to do with acquiring.

Had VJ skipped last season because of her injury, we'd be better off. But she's not in Janeth's league and she's gonna get there.
