Siegrist coming down on a steal and breakaway layup picks up her dribble too early and takes 3 big steps before a layup. No call. Maybe not reviewable.

No worries. Her passport was stamped.

Yueru is looking much more mobile tonight and hustling. But her wingspan is not "larger than her height". She stood her ground against Kalani Brown who was trying to go through her to get to a low post spot and Yueru got called for a foul. She went to the ref to ask what she had done wrong. Would have liked to have heard the response.

Tough for LA to be seeing how well Billings is doing for Dallas - against them - after cutting her. Seems like she has earned a spot on the Wings. In fact, she is playing like a madwoman.

Clarendon out. Announcers think running blind into a McCowan screen may have caused it.

She shouldn’t have been waived, unless she requested it, but I haven’t heard that to be the case.

Tough 1 point loss for the Sparks. They made a big run at the end to take the lead but then couldn't hold it.

Training camp Spark Monique Billings: 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 0 turnovers, 2 fouls. She's playing like a woman possessed since getting cut by the Sparks.

I beg your finest pardon. Arike was 7-30? That's gross

But Arike made up for it by hitting big shots late ... oh wait, she was one for eight in the fourth quarter.

Haters never fail to do their job Laughing Laughing . She lives rent free in UCONN fans heads.

Seriously. Is it the UConn legion of White Walkers that are leading the charge for Arike hate?

She’s a stud asked to do a ton on a team that too often stands around on offense. First game with Howard she had 7 assists. Against phoenix shot 7-12 from 3. Then had to play 37 minutes less than a day later.

So let's look at Arike's career. She's 27, in her prime, and likely to begin her decline phase in the next year or two.

Her career overall shooting percentage is 39.4, which most would consider below optimal. Aging gunner Diana Taurasi's career percentage is 42.6%, and hit 46.1% of her shots in her age 27 season. Unfair because DT is too good?

OK, Kayla McBride's career % is 41.3, and at 27, she was at 42.5%.

Three-point % for Arike? A solid 35.1. McBride 36.7.

Arike shoots 27.3 times per 100 possessions; McBride 20.0.

Other comparisons could be made, but in short, Arike is the classic definition of volume shooter, and it's hard for me to consider a gunner who shoots under 40% a premium player.

Of course, Dallas is not noted for its wise decision-making process (Jacy Sheldon, anyone?) but still ...

I don't hate Arike, actually-quite the contrary. I think she seems really cool. But 7-30, is just that, 7-30!

…but clearly you care. Go on and stan your chucker. As a UConn fan I can say I dislike Mabrey’s punk ass from that ND era a lot more than Arike. But that won’t fit your narrative now would it?

Taurasi and McBride and other guards in the league are unburdened by the ability to get off a clean shot at any time, even with a defender guarding them as hard as they can.
