Cannot wait to see which players get saved from possibly being poached by Golden State. How many players was each team allowed to save in the last expansion draft?

In the last expansion existing teams protected six. The expansion team got one from each team. They could select no more than one UFA (which they could then core).

The Golden State Whatevers are going to be helped by the much more extensive free agency these days though, and by virtually everyone who's not on a rookie scale contract wanting to be a free agent when the new CBA kicks in. They might have to wait a year, but after that the build could happen very quickly.

I'm pretty sure I wrote a mock expansion draft for that Dream one. Jesus I've been doing this a while.

Jess Smith has the pressure of Lacob predicting a championship in 5 years. The Warriors did it but in a different situation. They were not an expansion team and already had future hall of famer Curry on the roster. And then they were fortunate to get two future Olympic team members at #11 and #35 in subsequent drafts.
