Maryland couldn't score down the stretch. 10-0 Iowa State run at one point. Now in overtime. Their small rotation may get them tired at the end of games.

I'm watching this game and it looks to me like it is 8:00 to go in the 4th. ESPN page also says that.

How do you have it in OT?

Crooks just throws the ball toward the basket and it goes in. She has 35 with just under 5 minutes to go.

Crooks is being allowed a lot of leeway to push the Maryland guards as they try and deny the ball. Maryland has no height or bulk to combat that.

Maryland really went cold or got tired at the end of the game. They led from 2-0 Iowa State till about 1 or 2 minutes left in regulation.

93-86 ISU final

Crooks 40 pts (18-20, 0-0 3P, 4-8 FT), 12 reb, 0 ast, 3 TO, 2 blk in 33 min
Ryan 18 pts (5-10, 3-3 3P, 5-6 FT), 2 reb, 14 ast, 5 TO, 1 stl in 36 min

I’ve had my eye on Ryan for a PG ever since I scouted Ashley Joens (and Soares) a few years back.

Crooks tied the tournament record for a Big 12 player at 40 pts (Griner). She should have had more but she missed her last 4 FT’s.

ISU had the second biggest tournament comeback at 20 pts.

Kubek plays for Maryland.

They played a great 1st half, but couldn't get the shots to fall in the 2nd. ISU Crooks couldn't be stopped.

I picked the MTSU upset over Louisville and thought I had a chance of a perfect first round.

I picked ISU to beat Maryland but gave up on getting a perfect round watching ISU getting blown out by 20 late in the 2nd quarter. I threw in the towel and shut the game off expecting that I lost the pick.

Then, later that night I heard they came back and won. "What?"

Made my perfect first round!

Went back to watch the game

Very Happy

But ISU is easier to type that Maryland. Laughing Thanks for the correction.

I didn't realize that Crooks is 6'3"!!!

I just learned that Crooks was a shot putter in HS, which probably explains her body type and her shooting style. But if she intends to continue playing basketball, it would be wise for her to drop about 30 lbs. She makes me think of Summer Erb the way she thunders down the court.
