I wouldn't be surprised if Debbie Antonelli votes for her.

I'm a little surprised. I thought Wilson had overtaken her down the stretch. Also there has long been an anti-NY bias in MVP voting.

I know MVP awards are based on stats with team success, but how is basketball a guards game and guards never win the award?

Like, I would think players like DT, Bird, Sloot, and Gray are/were clearly the MVP on their teams and very deserving some years. Will someone like Clark break this trend? Guards often win POY in college, but it never translates.

Like, at some point, Sabrina is going to put together an MVP type season with a very good stat line. Dallas *might* win a title in the next four years and Arike will be ridiculously good that year.

Those players won't win though. I don't like it.

I'm holding out hope that Thomas comes out in Game 2 like '95 Olajuwon, and just straight-up embarrasses Stewart.

So Breanna Stewart wins the MVP, but Someone Else got the most first place votes. Smile

My Top 7 look exactly the same as the Top 7 as voted! Happy to see Napheesa come in 4th, as she deserves! She was the best outside the Top 3.

Aliyah Boston, Jewell Loyd, Satou Sabally, and Jackie Young get their first ever MVP votes

Can't lie she outplayed her in Game 1 and i expect the same the rest of this series. AT is the better overall player this year imo , but that does not matter she will never win MVP or DPOY . Hell i wont be surprised if she's put on 2nd team this season because i mean _________ X.

So this is a compromise on the Piloght v everyone else argument? Technically, his criteria was right and AT didn’t win MVP. However, she got the most #1 votes, so she was definitely a viable candidate. I think only the second time the most #1 votes to not win the award?

Eye test ….must factor at some point . The ENTIRE season AT made history and for nothing. Anxious to see how Lachina holds her frustration during pre game.

I wish we could do a poll here where we could vote for 1st/2nd/3rd curious of the outcome of point total. I would be fine with a Co-MVP but to me The wnba is saying Stewie did more for NY with the super team than what AT did with a hurt and hampered team. #Ridiculous with B.Jones I think Conn is the 2nd best team . Without her I assumed maybe #6-8 and yet they still stayed premier. I wonder why?

It’s horseshit that she didn’t win. Her lack of #2 votes is what did her in. The people who were passionate about her voted her #1 but the rest of the votes were a duel of A’ja and Stewie. The people who were passionate were very passionate but the Stewie and A’ja voters all pretty much had her at #3 it seems.

I hate how they play coy on ESPN knowing everyone knows that the 4th place vote to Aja came from M.A. idc I’m so tired of him/her controlling the narrative seriously. We all know why he gave that vote and it had nothing to do with Aja the player or the aces .Here comes the MA brigade 3…2…1.

Why is blame being placed in WNBA re: AT not getting MVP. WNBA doesn't pick MVP, does it? I thought national media determined winner. That's what it says in all the coverage I've read.

Also -- all votes were submitted by Sept. 10, so play in playoffs are not relevant.

As one story said - there was NO bad choice. All the top three (and you could argue Collier at 4) were great.

Can you argue that Stewart did NOT have a great season?

She got her scoring up to 15.5 ppg, so she would have made the final poll anyway.

The W should make all the votes public
