That's what it gets for being slow, I submit twice haha. So instead I'll just talk here.
Can you imagine if SDS does go to Seattle? That would make them a destination with that backcourt and then Ezi in the front and a good draft pick.
Anyway, what do y'all think of Gabby's announcement about 2024?

Gabby Williams has had obligations in place for two years. CBA was approved in January 2020, three and a half years ago. She knew her French contract was going to conflict with the W's rules when she signed it. She made her bed, now she's complaining about having to lie in it.

I think Gabby is ending her own career due to prioritization. It's not like the league will miss her , she just has to prioritize where she wants to play. The WNBA will go on and not think twice .

Honestly, it makes sense that Gabby is missing next season given her commitments with the French National Team and their efforts to win on home soil. If I was playing for France, I'd prioritize the Olympics on "home" soil over the WNBA any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Seattle has a decent core going forward a lottery pick and cap space so IMO Seattle has a very clear path forward
keep everyone currently under contract in 24 (which is 8 players)
Add in your lottery pick (9 players)
add in 2nd round pick (or 3rd round pick or youthful camp invite if they out play 2nd round pick) (10 players)
Then you have about 280K too add two free agents
that is enough for a regular max and a vet minimum
or two decent but not huge contracts 140k apiece, 180k and 100k etc.
leaves you with something like
Whitcomb/Melbourne
Loyd/Nurse
Horston
Magbegor
Russell/DFM
lottery pick could be a PG Clark or Bueckers
or a post Brink, Reese, Cardosa
or if they end up at 4 could experiment with reuniting R. Jackson with Horston
go the opposite direction with the other pick or camp invite
Seattle could actually develop youth with Magbegor, lottery pick, Horston, Melbourne, DFM and 2nd round pick or camp
while also competing for a playoff spot with its vets Loyd, Whitcomb, Russell, Nurse and the two free agents it brings in

and additionally in the article:
"Seattle also prompted assistant coach Pokey Chatman to associate GM. Chatman also will continue her role on the coaching staff."

I’d like to see the Storm go hard after Cloud. Backcourt of Loyd & Cloud could be lots of fun & productive.

That's one heck of an expensive salary dump.

The Storm are clearing cap space for Jewell to have some fun new friends it would seem…
