Becky Hammon played in the WAC. Does that not make a difference? And that was back when the talent pool wasn’t nearly as deep as it is today. Today’s Amoore probably would have dialed it up all day against WAC competition from Becky’s Colorado State days.
But the shooting percentages wasn’t what set me off about your post. It was this:

I’ve actually been noticing that the league has been more accepting of the shorter guards the past couple of years. You of all people should notice this considering your team, so why do you claim they don’t exist?
The Dream basically swapped a listed 5’6 guard in Ari McDonald for listed 5’6 Jordin Canada, and gave Canada a big contract. Has Canada’s play been so big that you didn’t notice she was short?
Also, freshman phenom Hannah Hidalgo is listed at 5’6. I’ll check later on, but I want to see you tweeting her and telling her to give up any dreams of the WNBA because 5’6 doesn’t exist in the league by your very careful scrutiny.
I don’t prefer shorter players myself because they tend to be more of a defensive liability (depending on the player), but shorter players do exist in the league.
Is Amoore guaranteed to make it in the league? I’d say “no”, but at least I can guarantee she’ll get drafted, unlike Becky Hammon, who didn’t get drafted despite having great numbers in the WAC as claimed by pilight.
So if little Becky Hammon can make it despite going against huge odds, maybe little Georgia Amoore can make it having a little better odds.
Here’s a good question. Are people (not just pilight) liking Amoore more than HVL? Do you have to look up stats to answer this question, or can you tell me just by what you’ve seen watching the games?

Amoore is hard to judge yes I would take her before HVL but (especially for NY) I wouldn’t take her before Sheldon or Osborne.
Now who would I take first between Amoore and Paopao? Not sure. Probably Paopao (but Paopao and HVL are both on my won't be shocked to see them stay one more year list).

There were 35 former ABL players drafted in 1999 when Hammon was eligible. There were 15 non-ABL drafted. So Hammon wouldn't have gone in the first round, but unknown if she would have been drafted in a normal year.

And Hammon was, and is, a unicorn. Her basketball IQ is off the charts, as shown more by her ascension to Gregg Popovich's lead assistant in San Antonio than her success at Las Vegas.
Also, it was a different time. The W is bigger, stronger and more athletic now.
That doesn't mean strong, explosive 5-6 athletes like Hannah Hidalgo can't make an impact in the W, but I don't see Amoore in her class. Amoore gets the spunky white-girl love that some players attract, but she's got to shoot better and handle better -- which she might do -- to be a factor at the next level.

SC social media is giving Cardoso “thank you” type messages, plus SC flew in her mom and sister for however long so they can experience her college game before she moves on. She looks to be clearly moving on to the draft.
Ayoka Lee was all tears on her Senior Day, so it doesn’t look like there’s a 6th year in the works for her.
With other dominoes falling, maybe Brink will now be less coy about still being “undecided”.
If anybody is in love with Kate Martin, she spent 6 years at Iowa and has to move on.

I’d consider Raven Johnson the actual PG of SC. She’s at 139 ast 49 TO with a more impressive 60 steals. But scoring is obviously a big component of this award.
Clark will win any awards she’s nominated for.
I’m a little disappointed Serena Sundell didn’t make the final list. They must have wanted to represent the strongest schools. She might be a late first round candidate for next year.
Ohio St doesn’t really have a true PG. Instead they have two similar combo guards in Sheldon and Celeste Taylor. But Sheldon leads the whole team in scoring at 18.2 ppg.

I heard on the Big East tournament championship game that Nika Mühl won’t be returning to UConn next season.

| Elizabeth Kitley announced she is out for the NCAA tournament, but I still haven’t found out the nature of her injury. If she ends up being a deferral, she might be a good pickup for team needing help next year over this year. Could get first round level talent for a second round pick.

She'll stil go in the first round as a draft & stash, get healthy at VT at come back healthy in 2025.
Just trying to stay positive. I'm devastated for her; especially considering she could have come out last year and chose to stay at VT to finish the business they started in last year's final four. Fucking heartbreaking ending to a truly legendary career, the greatest player ever to don a Hokie uniform.

Obviously unfortunate for Kitley and Virginia Tech, but it does create an interesting situation. Usually there's a team or two who'd actualy move a player up their board if they're out for the year, because their roster's too crowded to want to make room for a rookie. But that usually means a team with multiple picks, or the player not going much higher than the 10-12 range unless they're a really high-end talent or it's a dreadful class.
So maybe Chicago at 8, if they really like her and assume their rebuild is going to take a while anyway? Dallas have done it before, and have 5 and 9, but they have so many bigs already. Would have to see her as too much value to ignore at 9. Outside of that she could slide, depending on just how much teams liked her before the injury. |

| Kitley should practice shooting 3's while she is injured because she needs that shot to play in the WNBA as center with her level of athleticism and wingspan.
