According to Tara presser after loss to Ole Miss, Hannah Jump is returning. No one else. Belibi going into some program at Harvard (Med. School?) but probably won't be able to play basketball there.

The Ivy League has rules against 5th year players but I'm not sure if they apply to grad transfers.

I assume they would. Otherwise I suspect we would have seen someone attempt to grad transfer from one Ivy school to another.

That's GREAT news for Duke! It also may be good news that Shy is transferring out, even though it may not seem like it now. If Kara can convince someone like Taina Mair to transfer in, Duke will be far better off in my opinion. Not only does Mair have 3 more years (vs. 2 for Day-Wilson), but she is a pass-first point guard who can also score. I was very impressed by her this year.

I still cannot figure out how Shy won the Coaches' ACC Freshman of the Year award over Sonia Citron. (Citron won the Blue Ribbon Panel.) But the coaches?? Didn't they see all the different ways that Citron helps a team?

Re UConn, neither Aubrey Griffin nor Paige Bueckers declared for the WNBA draft by the deadline, which means they are staying at UConn . . . or going into the transfer portal.

Shocking! My sense from that program was that all the Aussies were ready to leave.

“Purdue women’s basketball received a boost ahead of next season when a trio of Boilermakers announced they would return for their final eligibility in 2023-24. After losing two starters, Lasha Petree and Cassidy Hardin, this off-season, Purdue retains the three other members of the starting unit.

Abbey Ellis and Caitlyn Harper took to social media to share the news earlier this week and Jeanae Terry followed suit on Friday. The news was expected as all three had one more year of eligibility, but now they have each made their intentions public.”

I didn't realize Caitlyn Harper (high school class of 2018) still had eligibility! She must have gotten some sort of waiver for 2019-2020 when she only played 4 games.

Cori Close quoting an unnamed WNBA peer regarding the situation of players deciding whether to take a 5th year or come back to college: “Does Charisma want to make more money and stay in college and get massages, fly charter, have everything paid for, have a nutritionist and have her own trainers that are paid for?” Close said, quoting the coach. “Or does she want to have none of those things and fly Southwest with us?”--NYT article in today's sports section
