It wasn't THAT many years ago that Indiana was the doormat of the B1G. How times change!

I know, right!? I was skimming through the standings, and also saw some other "Reversals of Fortune".... The once-proud Dayton program is currently winless this season. And I have NEVER seen Tennessee below Vanderbilt in SEC standings. At least their Glory Days are still within living memory. Who even remembers Old Dominion, or LaTech?? Shocked

Way back, I was back in Los Angeles taking care of my grandma and began attending UCLA women's bball games in Pauley Pavilion. Those were the days when Denise Curry was THE player. Jackie Joyner (Kersey) was on that team and boy could she jump outa the gym!

Then the Lady Techsters came to town and blew this UCLA team right outa the water. I was IN AWE. Those players were streaking up an down the floor and the UCLA players were helpless during the onslaught. Yes, I remember when Louisiana Tech ruled wcbb!

And Old Dominion. I was in Durham, NC by then and immediately began following the Duke women. There was maybe 1,000 people in the stands - and that included my entire city league team and player family members. Several years after Coach G arrived, the Duke team was undefeated going into he Old Dominion game and ran into a buzzsaw. A few years later, Duke was placed in the Greensboro region, with threepeat Tennessee as #1, Old Dominion #2 and Duke #3. First up for Duke was Old Dominion. Somehow, the Duke team outlasted Mery Andrade's antics and went on to face Tennessee and deny them the fourpeat.

Unfortunately for Old Dominion, that was the beginning of their slide down...

Hartford is preparing to drop out of D-I so their struggles are expected.

And now Dayton has finally broken that jinx.

Utah took its first loss of the season to conference rival Colorado. And then, there were 3:

South Carolina
Louisiana St.
Ohio St.

Strength of Schedule for The Big Three:

South Carolina: 24th
Opponent's Win-Loss: 129-73

Ohio State: 88th
Opponent's Win-Loss: 126-104

Louisiana State: 200th
Opponent's Win-Loss: 94-95

Strength of Schedule for The Big Three:
- South Carolina: 24th
- Ohio State: 88th
- Louisiana State: 200th

Just a note that these numbers are RPI's strength of schedule.

If you use Massey's SOS metric, you get:
- South Carolina: 11
- Ohio State: 10
- LSU: 84

From what I understand, NET does not have an actual SOS metric, though you can get an idea from this information:
Quad 1 wins - Quad 2 wins - Quad 3 wins - Quad 4 wins - average win
- SC: 5-2-2-6-127
- OSU: 6-3-1-6-142
- LSU: 2-1-5-7-186

I think it's both interesting and informative to realize the differences between these SOS metrics. It's clear that LSU has played the weakest schedule, but RPI versus Massey/NET paint two different pictures of how Ohio State and South Carolina's schedules compare.

Kim Mulkey has a long history of cupcake non-con schedules. This year is softer than most.

And with the SEC being down and their conference schedule being easy, LSU only has 4 total games against teams currently in the top 40 of NET. Rolling Eyes
