Can you play? Like literally? We're down to ... is it 3 bench players tonight?

Can I play? Of course I can. I'll give the Merc 40 points, 22 rebounds and 17 assists. At least in my dreams! Wink

Uniform comment: I love those firey triangles on the Merc uniforms.

Commentator: we could have a contest to guess how many times we will hear 'you betcha'.... [sigh] or alternatively 'splash'

Pleasantly surprised with the first half. Hopefully Diamond keeps it up and Sophie hits more shots at a better clip. Think we will need one more to help these two out for a win.

An injury to another starter would not be ideal

Howard's turn now Confused She's being assisted off the court.

Are the Liberty trying to win this game? I'm honesty not sure so far.

NY is so much better off getting into the lottery than barely making the playoffs. I know that's hard for fans to stomach but it's the truth.

Merc having some fun with it tonight

Career high for Peddy, season high for DeShields.

Agreed.

And they should get Laney out of there IMO.

The Liberty will have trouble sleeping after this one...
Just like that, they are back out off the playoffs.

All of the teams currently 6 through 11 in this league have decently high ceilings... but astoundingly low floors. Which is why the standings look the way they do, which such a clear gap between 1-5 and 6-11 (... and then the Fever......).

Came out from the start playing like they had nothing to lose, and it got the job done. I wasn't expecting that either. No way. Not once Skylar was ruled out.

Fun game

Yikes for the Liberty though. 😬

What in everything resembling a fuck. If we’re going to play like this with Betnijah Laney, against what should have been an easy and underpowered opponent, put her ass back on a plane to New York and pretend this experiment never happened. I’m not enthusiastic about this whole scraping into the playoffs and getting ass-beat without the dignity of a playoff game, but I don’t want to miss the playoffs this way, either, if that makes any sense. I don’t expect it to. I’m tired and annoyed, and it's hot.

I am completely baffled. What's the "good" way to miss the playoffs? Missing the playoffs when lots of teams are close seems to require losing games. Which rarely looks inspiring.
